That doesn't surprise me but where did you see that?

It was on the hawk central radio hour on kxno a month or two ago. I don't think he said lock but him and whoever the other guy on there is thought it was pretty much a done deal.

I can’t believe anyone is is a lock for Iowa at this point. Although they are hot now, got a two game winning streak.

It’s unteal how lucky Iowa gets with good players? that grow up Hawk fans, yet we get no guys in Iowa that grow up Clone fans. It’s bizarre

The two good ones didn't necessarily want to go to Iowa. Uthoff went there because of his girlfriend. Jok went there because ISU agreed not to recruit him.

I do admit that it looks like they may have a couple decent ones in the pipeline.

I would imagine having a chance at Carton would turn a lot on whether Wigginton would be around for his Junior year, and on how confident we are in Halliburton taking over. Might also matter who else we're in on in that class. Prohm hasn't really had much of a problem landing guards, so it's not crazy to imagine we might be in on bigger fish.

The Iowa tie will obviously be strong, but there has to be a point where the success Prohm has had with point guards comes into play. He's already put 2 in the NBA while at Murray, he got Monte there last year, all signs point to Wigginton going, and most remarkably Nick Babb is actually in a position where he will get some looks. Compare that to Fran, and well.... slightly less success in that department.

I am talking for the last 30 years. MInus Fred and a few others. Any highly rated kid have been Hawk fans or left the state.

I think Nick will absolutely get some looks if he can turn in another year like this (but completely healthy).

Carton is a nice player but I just don't really see why he has risen so much in the rankings . From what I have seen he looks like a 4 star for sure but I would have guessed he was between the 75-100 range not then top 40 or 50. But I think I read that it is considered a weak class for PGs.

Nunge and Frederick aren't from Iowa.

Daniyal Robinson and DJ Carton recently followed each other on twitter.

https://t.co/GVA5k0humo?amp=1

Interesting development. I know that DJ has been thought of a Big 10 Lean with Wisconsin and Iowa the early favorites.
Considering Prohm's ability to identify guard talent I always thought it was odd that the staff hadn't been in contact with a instate 4 start PG. I am sure he is aware of Carleton but must not feel his skills fit what he wants to do at ISU?

As for the "lock to Iowa", we'll see as he is lining up multiple visits to other midwest colleges so he seem open at this point.
Plus Prohm isn't going to not recruit a prospect just because of a lean. I'll just point to AJ Green's recruitment.

A big part of that was Roy Williams, who is literally Satan. First at Kansas and then at UNC, he should have been detained at the airport whenever he came to Iowa.

But they grew up Hawk fans. Technically, Gessel didn't grow up in Iowa either. Maybe Frederick isn't a Hawk fan but I was thinking he was.

Oh.ok. that makes sense. i didn't know they grew up hawk fans. They must have ties to the state because I don't see how you could grow up a fan of Iowa basketball outside the state because these young kids really haven't seen very good Iowa teams.
