Signed Paul RhoadsYou can't do two in a row like that, I don't care what the buy-out is.
I have no idea if we're still recruiting him but here's a video of Isaiah Stokes shattering a backboard against Connor McCafferys team.

Any word on Jucos? Seems like it's the time of the year where guys like Hogue start to show up on the radar, and the staff can offer up great opportunities for PT.
This staff seems to have very minimal connections to any type of recruit at this point, whether it be high school, JUCO, or transfers. Im not expecting too much for the 2017 class at this point except maybe a few mid major type recruits. Sorry for the negativity but at this point there is no reason to think otherwise.
Completely agree. Hoiberg kinda started this surge of big transfer offseasons. I don't think we should expect to get unreal players every off season, but I think we have a solid enough reputation in the transfer market that we can be "in on" almost everyone if we wanted to.

With so much insight on what the staff is up to maybe you can tell us all who the midmajor targets are? Doubt you have a clue and post this nonsense.
They aren't totally out of line. If we only had a few spots to fill with the 2017 class, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to be sitting in the position we are right now. The problem is that we have, what 6 or 7 spots to fill and there aren't any kids that seem really wanting to jump on their ISU offer. Everything is fluid with recruiting and I think most people understand that, but we have a new staff here and we've not seen them in this position before. It's getting a bit nerve-wracking.
I agree its making me nervous but need to have faith. I think we do need to pay to bring in another solid recruiter though if possible. Losing TJ sucked.

Relax it is July...
We'll be hearing about visits and get some more clarity on Targets in August/September. The staff had a lot of late turnover last year and filled all the available scholarships with quality players no reason to think they won't do the same. Prohm doesn't need to fill 6 scholarships by December, having one or two open for potential in season transfers is always an option.
The major JuCo tourneys are taking place over the next couple of weeks and I am pretty confident that ISU interest in a few of high level players will become known. The staff switches the focus from high school once the AAU evaluation period ends this weekend.
Has hoiberg taught us nothing? Niang and Monte were not considered homeruns but they certainly developed into stars. I think its all about development with Iowa State, that and getting the right transfers.we've been through enough coaching changes in the last decade to know that, fair or not, a coach will live or die based on that 1st or 2nd class (depending on when you want to start the clock). prohm's going for the south and chicago - and with 6-7 scholly's, he needs a homerun or he won't be our coach in 3-4 years. that's just how it works.
