Zach is a UCONN commit.
So we're not knee deep in the recruitment of Zach Brown?

We do seem to have offered an awful lot of point guards. Hopefully we will snag at least a 4 star or higher rated one.

WHICH ONE IS IT

No kidding. CW's article sure makes it sound like Sexton is an extreme long shot, yet Halstead's article quotes Sexton as listing us as a visit destination. Yes, I realize he's a young kid, its his life/career, they owe a school nothing, and should choose whatever school they desire. But...simply for our coaches' sake, I just hope he doesn't string us along or use up an official visit just to hang out with Monte, for example, on the college's dime. Guess we'd rather have a visit than no visit. I suppose there's always the theory that he could have listed us as a visit destination because he knew he was talking to a guy covering ISU. Seems to be real interested in Arizona, for one.

Technically we could still be in someone's top 5 and get a visit but still be a long shot.

The Arizona heavy interest is no doubt tied to USA bball. Arizona and Duke have an unfair advantage that needs to be dealt with. To have college coaches be involved in USA basketball creates a recruiting advantage and it gives them a leg up on those guys. Frankly I'm not sure how it hasn't been a bigger deal. Probably bc it's coach K.

If I'm correct the tryout & tournament with USA basketball this summer was Sexton's first encounter with USA Basketball. I also know that the USA U17 was coached by Don Showalter (former Iowa City High coach).

And? The fact is Miller and K have access to these recruits through USA bball. They can be at practices etc. it's not surprising that Arizona andDuke show up on these kids lists and that Duke has gotten a ton of USA kids.

It won't be dealt with although I agree with you 1000000000000000000000%.

My point was that it doesn't really affect Sexton's recruitment very much. If the Arizona interest is tied to USA basketball then it is minimal because it existed prior to Sexton's involvement with USA basketball and no Arizona coaches were involved with his USA basketball team. Also when you are one of the best coaches in CBB I feel as if you earn the right to be involved with the USA basketball program.

Due to broad range or offers to PG's, I think Prohm's ideal scenario would be to pick up 2 in the class one 4 star type who he can feature in the Morris/Payne mold someone who could possibly go pro early and a 3 star (120-150 rank) who he can develop behind the 4 star.

I didn't say all his interest but I bet it's definitely enhanced by it.
providing access to recruits that other coaches don't get is an unfair advantage that shouldn't be allowed. Don't know why being a great coach should give you extra access to recruits

I just think if you are a great coach it is fair to be offered the opportunity to work with the best players in our country as well. Also when you say you think his interest is enhanced are you referring to Sexton's interest in Arizona or vice versa?

It could play out that way, but I think it would be a tough sell to bring in 2 PG's in the same class. More likely, we sign a PG and a combo guard who could play 10-15mpg at PG.

The good thing is Prohm and staff know if they have guys who can play PG on the existing roster. Jackson is the obvious guy for 2016/17 along side Monte and then the lead PG in 2017/18. The wildcard is Babb. He has been an assist machine in summer league play and fill PG minutes. That would enable Prohm to bring in one PG this year and target shooters to replace Naz and Matt.
