I think with the 4 game freshman deal it gets a bit tricky. Assuming they want to red shirt Moberly, but also get him some live snaps. I would think if JJ is indeed #3 as it appears, you have to be really careful about how to allocate the snaps for Moberly and JJ. Assuming we get in a blowout situation again, do you go JJ instead, just to save games for Moberly?

If God forbid Rocco gets hurt, all that’s out the window and you go with who gives you the best chance to win games.
Moberly was better in HS than Kohl. He's still better than Kohl. You guys are overthinking it.

That's an optimistic read. We have 3 backs who offer something different. We're going to continue to see them mix and match and feed the hot hand. I like Sama, but Jackson and Hansen were just as good and probably better.
Really seems like Samas field vision has been subpar so far. After rewatching the 3 games, he has missed some wide open holes, especially during the UI game

All is not well my friends
Tough spot for Ark St. 2nd game in a row on the road vs a bigger more physical opponent. Hard to have much success in that situation. You have some speed and some guys, but just outmatched up the middle.

QB play also an issue, but he wont face this kind of defense again. Burn the tape, there are wins on the schedule to be had.

Right now Jackson is out best RB. He does what Breece did so well with setting up defenders. Abu is just relying on his physical talents. Hopefully Abu learns from Jackson.

Hansen is good between the tackles and gives some power running. What I like about the 3 is they all offer something different.
Good comment. I am expecting more from Sama. Jackson was very impressive against Iowa, but he is small. Sama cannot get away with his physical capabilities, because others on the defense maybe just as big, fast and strong.

Can’t disagree. Just pointing out that the 4 game redshirt could be an issue, albeit it a small one. In this day and age, just play your best players when needed and don’t worry about burning the redshirt so much.

Yeah, in today’s transfer portal world, sitting a player to keep his redshirt often means he’ll be using that year you saved somewhere else.

There was a small group of them near our tailgate, so they had a few fans there.
There was a time not too long ago we had a penchant for traveling well. After years of struggling to make the FBS transition, we got a coach that made us good, but not great. 6 wins a year every year, and NFL draftees every year, but couldn't get over the hump.

Then Hugh Freeze took over and we win 11 games year 1. He bounces. Gus comes in wins 10. He bounces. Brian Harsin comes in, we win 8. He bounces.

5 different head coaches in 5 years. NCAA record.

And then Blake Anderson did exactly what he did to Utah State. Won a bunch of games with someone else's players and then crashed the program.

We've had a rough decade unfortunately and it's impacted our fan base quite a bit.

“Let’s pay our backup QB, but with someone else’s money because it’s not enough of a priority for me”

Thank you for your service
Bingo! Nailed it.

Sorry... my ability to retire someday, and take some nice vacations in my life with family are MUCH more important than any athletic contest. So sue me. My life will go on just fine if Cyclone athletics cease to exist anymore. It's just entertainment for me... but so are a lot of other things.

100% reasonable to not be able to give to WW. If it were me, I’d keep the snarky comments calling out the head of WW until you’ve actually donated
What snarky comments? I half jokingly said if I had CW and Blum's kinda money I could donate... is that being snarky? Man... people need to lighten up.

Personally, do what you want with your money. I don’t give a **** about your ability to retire. But to point out to our “GM” about making sure our backup quarterback is paid, then explaining why you personally can’t donate is a very fascinating strategy

That's the difference between a senior and a true sophomore. Also, Jackson is undersized and has to rely on guile. He has honed his craft.

If Abu can learn when to take what is given and then when to turn it on he will become a dangerous weapon. Until then RB will be a three headed monster which I'm fine with.

Hansen is at his best downhill and I hope they can keep finding the situations to fit his strengths.

Basing an evaluation on a spot true freshman performance is a stretch. Especially considering the relative states of the team. Not much comparison between this year’s OL, and what it looked like against UNI last year.

Also, assuming that JJ isn’t dinged up just because he’s suited up also seems like a stretch. If he’s healthy but #3, why didn’t he get a series late, like everyone else did?

Sure, maybe to maximize Moberly’s snaps in his limit of four games, but I’ll wait to see more.
I would guess that JJ is probably healthy and Moberly just beat him out. Coaches most likely left him out there to see what he could do in different situations.

Honestly... I do care about your ability to retire... I hope you can some day... unless you already have... then congrats to you!

My only point about saying we better start raising funds to pay Moberly is that you're crazy if you don't think other teams will be opening up their pocketbooks to lure him away from us every year. That's just today's climate. I hate it.. but it's how things are now. He's a good young talent at the most important position on the field.

Whether or not Cyclone fans dish out the cash that will be needed to keep him... I hope they can... but if not... so be it. Life goes on. My life won't be that affected if Moberly isn't our 2nd string QB next year and is somewhere else. If my life ever gets to the point where something like that would really affect me that negatively... I will need some therapy.

Oddly, I did not see any Ark. State fans yesterday. Not a one. I'm sure there were some at the game?
There were a few that walked down the stands near us after we went up 14-0 and we jokingly said "leaving already" to which one of them responded "I can only take so much". We thought they were joking and just going to the concessions or something. They actually didn't come back.
