Can’t sugar coat that loss. OSU isn’t a good team and the crowd wasn’t a factor.

Tons of turnovers, chucking up 3s, lack of ball movement. Didn’t look like a top 25 team let alone top 10.

Pretty flat, uninspired effort - the opposite of what gets you far in March.
I mean you can sugar coat it if you want. By the criteria the committee uses its not a bad loss.

Bad loss. Only good thing is it's not tournament next week. Team has a little time to get healthier. Hopefully they can find their mojo again as in less TOs and better offense. Heise finally found his spot last night, shot well from corner
I don’t think Gilbert would have put up with this ****+. When is he back?!!

I'd suggest watching Gilbert since about December.

He may have helped to get to the line last night though to close the gap more.

What happened to the Demarion that played some critical minutes when MM was out? Demarion looked lost out there against OSU last night. Some of this can be blamed on playing the analytics game during the non-conference season. Guys like Demarion and Nojus should have been getting some spot rotation minutes. If you live by an 8 man rotation you die by it as well- once the injuries start showing up.

We made fun of Kansas for performances like this earlier this year. This was as bad as any Kansas loss.

Kansas just beat this OSU team by 30.

Right.

I’m just saying that today is probably not the day to go scorched earth on anyone who is mad about last night. We are a top 10 team and when a top 20 team loses to a bad team, fans are going to overreact.

The good news is we have 3 more chances for really great wins.

Hoping the guys show some pride in themselves and this jolts them into a March run, but this team hasn't looked great for the last month so I'm starting to think this is who they are. Hope I'm wrong
ISU is team that looks great when they have an athletic advantage at most positions over their opponent, and a team that struggles quite a bit on offense when they encounter a physical defense, because the offensive scheme does little to nothing to create non-difficult shots. The coaching staff hasn't worked to improve this problem, and thus you get games like OSU and KSU.

ISU isn't getting a 1 or 2 seed, so the problem for a team like that in a one-and-done tournament is that, except for maybe the first day, the opponent will probably be athletic enough to implement some kind of physical defense for a game and take their chances. Some people seem to think that officials won't allow physical play in the tourney; I don't buy that. I've seen plenty of physical tourney games.

Nojus played quite a bit in November.

If DW looked good when MM was out then that makes November/December more irrelevant.

It's a weird thing to keep bringing up.

I'd say the whole group looked lost last night. Just kind of playing in a fog expecting to just pull it out like they had before except OSU had other plans.

We may have our full roster active again on Saturday for the first time since our biggest win of the year....in Lubbock. Hilton will be a charged environment for the next 2 games, against 2 good teams. Let's see how the next 2 games play out. I think those will be very telling of what to expect in KC and the tourney from this team.

Actually check that....our latest 4 game winning streak was at full health. Just reiterates that we need to see the next 2 games.

I’m also tired of our media personalities making up every excuse as to why Iowa State struggles and loses some head scratching games.

Every single team goes through injuries and the season is long yet our media guys come up with every excuse as to why we are struggling.
Not quite sure who all you follow, but..ive heard many media guys for teams that make excuses, they dont want to lose there access since thats how they make a living.

Gilbert imo has looked hobbled for about two months.

Several times in games he'd pull up a bit and looked pretty gingerly moving for defense.

Then take into account that Tamin seems to always have something going on and while Milan has looked good, is still healing the hand and it's not fully healthy. Not sure if they'll get there.

Good news is that ISU will be completely over looked now which is good....but also if we have the glaring issues like last night then they wont be doing much in the tourney anyway

could be that Gilbert gets hit pretty hard on his drives, guy takes a ton of contact without much benefit.
