could be that Gilbert gets hit pretty hard on his drives, guy takes a ton of contact without much benefit.

And TJ has talked about players not doing that kind of thing since you're usually not going to get the call in a crowd.

Either way that's not going to pull a leg muscle though and he had a similar thing lingering last year iirc.

Nojus played quite a bit in November.

If DW looked good when MM was out then that makes November/December more irrelevant.

It's a weird thing to keep bringing up.

I'd say the whole group looked lost last night. Just kind of playing in a fog expecting to just pull it out like they had before except OSU had other plans.
TJ brought up the comment when he was questioned on Milan's injury that Demarion was "ready and he has been spending extra time on his shot."

Nojus did play some in November, (61 minutes). Then December rolled around and he played a total of 14 minutes with 2 games in which he did not play.

Yeah, the problem is we are going to fall into the 4-5 territory at this rate and that's likely a Sweet 16 ceiling barring upsets. That's not what I was expecting a month ago at all.
6 of the last 8 final four teams were seeded 4 or lower. It’s the most unpredictable tournament in the world, unless you are a 13 seed or lower there really isn’t a ceiling unless you are talking who can win it all.

I think we finally wanted that San Diego State / Loyola Chicago final four historic run. And we can’t even get to that level.
What level is that? Winning 4 games in a row on a neutral floor? NC State finished 9-11 in the ACC last year and made the final four. Do we need to get to that level too?

The increased option to have Jefferson handle the ball more, with Gilbert out and bring it up the court was exposed last night. Jefferson does well for his size, but with double teams and added pressure out top is not his game and showed with 7 turnovers.

If we lose out and finish 12-8 in the big 12, then go on to play in San Antonio in April, I think everyone will be satisfied and acknowledge the year as a huge success. Right or wrong, your tournament performance is a huge part in that. Odds of that happening are pretty tiny though.

I'm not going to speak for Bieber, but I think the point people are trying to make is its extremely frustrating to watch teams like NC State come out of nowhere to make a Final 4. Meanwhile, we have a much better program than many of these schools and something always seems to happen. MSU in 2000, Niangs broken foot, frosted tips, Steve Prohm's ineptness, getting put in Uconns region.....

I think it's fair to start wondering if any of us will even see a Final 4 in our lifetime while a team last year wasn't even on the bubble in early March make it.

Not to be rude but outside of MSU you just listed reasons that a lot of teams go through (bad hire, early upset, injuries)

Purdue has been for more successful than us and they finally made a FF after 44 years last year!

I guess I just don’t understand the “now we aren’t capable” when I can’t even count how many programs had worse teams makes a FF. Honestly only 13 seeds and lower I would classify as not capable. Then again a 15 seed made an Elite 8 couple years ago.

It’s the most unpredictable tournament in the world. Chin up.

Crappy game last night, but getting everyone healthy for March is the objective. Defense and rebounding need to step up. Final four is always a crap shoot.

It needs more explanation? I thought every ISU fan would remember that year.
Keshon has different hair than last year. His tips are blonde, maybe that’s why we have lost 6 of 12.

That’s what you’re implying right? We lost to UAB becasue two players frosted their tips?

What happened to the Demarion that played some critical minutes when MM was out? Demarion looked lost out there against OSU last night. Some of this can be blamed on playing the analytics game during the non-conference season. Guys like Demarion and Nojus should have been getting some spot rotation minutes. If you live by an 8 man rotation you die by it as well- once the injuries start showing up.
Some people get excited when DW hits a three, but reality is he often looks lost on offense. If he standing at 3 unguarded sure he can knock it down but that's all on someone else to create that shot. He's not going to dribble or even roll like Ward did for lobs. His role does not seem well defined and he needs someone else like Gilbert to draw attention so his defender leaves him

Use 8. Rotate 7. Play 6. Trust 5.

Seems like the quick jitterbug point guards are what’s killing us. KSU WVU OSU. Tamin has good defensive fundamentals, but he is not that quick. They are getting blowby layups and steals.

As Cujo goes, we go.
When we were top 5 or better ranked, he was the primary reason.
Dude was hitting shots that we didn't expect, nor did he, given his facial expressions.
If he gets it going again...PLEASE!
