Completely disagree.

Not saying that top teams shouldn't beat them but there is a huge budget and talent difference between a mid-level A10, Valley, MW team (approx 150) and a SWAC or MEAC team (300+). If there wasn't a difference, buy games wouldn't cost drastically different amounts and Power League schools wouldn't be bailing out of MTEs where there are teams from the true mid-major conferences.

Looking at the NET and you were a bubble team that absolutely had to have a win would you rather play Illinois State (147, $4M budget) or Colorado State (149, $6M budget) or would you rather play Florida A&M (301, $1.1M budget) or Western Illinois (307, $990k budget)?

Quads are set appropriately and to the level of competition they provide.

Again, for a team in the field that range doesn't make much of a difference. You also have no control on where those teams will fall in Q3 or Q4 when they are scheduled. It's silly to weight those differently because at the end of the day they are all buy games regardless of the price tag.

On the last foul on CuJo, Fran’s angry gesticulation is timed so perfectly with the fam yelling “BOO!” that it almost seems like Fran is booing :mccaffery:
He was pissed at his guy for fouling. Coaches understand the NET, believe for Iowa not to fall in the NET too much they needed to lose by less than 6. They lost by 9 and dropped 11 spots

TJ really knows how to work the refs. He calmly gets explanations and then calmly discusses concerns. It reflects in his ream when they get called with a foul his guy rarely question. When a guy like Sandfort gets called he complains almost every time. Interesting

A favorite over the years from the passive 'not sure TJ was the right hire no matter how many games he wins because two years at UNLV' crowd was the idea that he doesn't go ballistic on the refs or even saying he doesn't talk to them when he's on camera very often having a conversation with them.

Turns out maybe he knows what he's doing.

You absolutely know where those games are going to fall outside of the occasional outlier. There are scheduling firms that do it for a living and 95% of the time, you get exactly what you buy.

So much difference between leagues that take 8 or 9 buys per team versus ones that take 0 or 1 per team.

TJ was in Jefferson’s face coming out of the Time Outs late.

In a good way.

He slapped him in the chest basically telling him He's the guy.
He was 3 assists away from a triple double. He is the best forward since Niang. His passing is very good and puts ISU in high scoring positions. He may be a better rebounder than Niang. Though Niang had a way of putting that Barkley body in the right spot

In fairness, Lipsey was 4 of 16 going into tonight (felt like freshman year) then goes 3-7.

If I recall, he missed his first 4 and then made last 3.

So was 4-20 through as of halftime tonight.

If he could shoot 35% or better the rest of the year we are absolutely ******* dangerous.
We have also missed some of his tough driving layups. I thought the one he had on the left side helped break the ice on his scoring as much as the first 3 early in the second half.

There will be a lot of nights where Milan gets an effortless 12-20 pts. A guy like him is part of why we have #3 adjusted offense.
I know Milan is clutch on the fade-away, even if he missed a couple last night, but with his added strength this year and guarded by a smaller player like last night, I would like to see him use a power move rather than just a finesse one. Love his game though and he has certainly worked harder on the boards.

I think we did see TJs conference rotation tonight. Nojus probably doesn't quite make the cut, but I'm excited for that guys future and he can probably still earn some minutes later if he keeps working hard.

How lucky are we at guard. We have 3 of the best guards in the country and then we have a mid major all conference player coming in as our #4. That's ridiculous.
We will need the deeper bench, especially with foul trouble in some games.

The only unfortunate thing about last night was we didn't get a Fran blowup. He gives the appearance of a guy that's just punching the clock this year and he's gone after this.
Haven't looked at all the pictures and they didn't focus on him much, but what level did Fran reach last night on the Francon scale?

I said this over the summer - but I still think he's a "role player" on the team this year, due to the strength of the backcourt - but he's going to be the star next year. You can see now how he could be a 18-10-5 guy next year, if the offense ran through him and he gets rolling from the three-point line ... and that would be a Conference Player of Year candidate.

Over the last 3 games he's averaging 14.7 / 11.7 / 4 - with just two turnovers

His role, is the oil that keeps the offense moving... Guy has such a high BB IQ, he sees the things before the rest of us do

Just realized the coach in the cujo gif who gets super animated is an assistant which makes sense because TJ is always up. Found where TJ was while everyone on bench goes crazy TJ is stone faced. He must kill at poker. :)

Yes.

I said his move to the rim towards the end of the Marquette game was masterful. Reminded me of all of the former Cyclone great Forwards with ball skills.

As he gets used to this team, he (and everyone else for that matter) should only improve.

Georges had 5 career double digit rebound games, 3 came in his senior year.

Jefferson has 3 double digit rebound games in a row, 4 this season. He had 5 games last season with 10+ rebounds.
