Since everyone will blame the players, I will also say embarrassing effort by Hilton. Last year we willed them to win vs BYU. The crowd was just as shell shocked as the players. We need energy all around in the second half. Get angry!

ISU was down by double digits a lot that game including the second half until they started hitting shots and BYU started missing.

ISU's front court was different on both ends to allow their guards a bit more room to operate.

This half court offense thing is a real problem. Has been for a long time. It's just reality. Either they get out and run off turnovers and are really good, or we really struggle in the half court.

Yea the metrics say we are improved offensively this year but it’s still varies so much from game to game just like the individual players do. When we are bad we are bad. Still think this team can beat anyone on a single night but never will be consistent enough to make a meaningful run.
The threes last game were fools gold.

This team really isn’t running much of an offense and our conference stats have been a better indicator of what this team is.

Definitely not playing like they care about winning the biggest game of the season. Maybe they don’t want a first round bye in KC no and maybe they don’t care about their seeding in the tournament.

Last year it looked like the program may have turned a corner but 3/4 years under TJ we've just steadily gotten worse as the year goes on. It's weird how a guy who was on the bench for some of our best offenses ever can't get it figured out on that end.

Idk if teams figure us out and we can't adjust or what but Feb/Mar is ugly under TJ. A road trip to Manhattan doesn't seem like the recipe to figure things out, hopefully KC is good to us and we'll look better getting away from Big 12 teams that seem to have our number.
I think part of it is we don't have the high end talent a lot of teams have but we have great chemistry and work ethic. So we come out great but as we get scouted we don't have the talent to adjust and overcome. It's been getting better every year and TJ is going to continue to upgrade the talent but we've had almost 0 NBA talent on any of these teams. I think Brockington is the only one that has even sniffed the league and nobody on this year's team will (maybe Tamin could get there).

Our offense hasn’t had a rhythm and a purpose for a while now. Sweet 16 slowly becoming the ceiling I’m afraid.

Going to take a drastic change in the offseason to our offensive system. At this point, we are who we are on that side of the ball. It’s been the same story now every year for TJ. I’m disappointed that he hasn’t made any major adjustments…but I’m confident that he will in the future.

Here’s a thought… if we don’t get a bucket in transition we throw the ball out of bounds intentionally and get back and set our defense. Can’t score in the half court anyway and eliminate live ball turnovers.

I expect to be credited for this

We have good enough three point shooters, it would not hurt to really space out our players on offense. They all seem to sink inward, allowing the defense to easily create a mess.

Didn't generate any offense with the early TOs. Didn't really attack the basket & even on a break we shy away from the bucket rather than attacking it. Giving up layups after makes is abysmal.
Exactly. Look at our offensive movement tonight, it's just like it was against Oky State last week. We are just content running around the 3 point line and not penetrating the paint. That also takes us away from the rim for rebounds. Defense has been good, but unless we get aggressive on offense we will lose another one tonight.

Crowd support has always been a 2 way street. This crowd wanted to explode multiple times and kept getting blue balled. When the team gives nothing back, as is the case when they give up a 23-7 run, that'll take the crowd out of it no matter the arena.

You could see it coming half way through the half when we had Jones playing the point and just dribbling the ball around the top of the key. Multiple possessions in a row. TJ needed a timeout to get the team focused on team ball again. Instead we just continued playing lazy offense and jacking up 3’s.
