Would appreciate any info on Ames and Hilton area road conditions. Coming from Des Moines area. Got to get out of my driveway first. Have seen no plows, and my snow removal guy has not shown up yet.

I haven’t been out, but the plows have already done the neighborhoods, so I assume road conditions are ok.
The problem is people are going to have to start leaving soon. Normal conditions I would leave around 11. I’m going to leave here in about a half hour.
Our daughter's basketball tournament was canceled after driving an hour toward central Iowa from the NW. I pulled over, scored two tickets for the Texas game and we're headed SE again.
Probably by midday, but maybe not by game time. This area seems to be the worst in the state.
Some of the pictures on there show some main roads having about a lane or so opened up, so I'd assume traffic is all there and awfully slow. Plus tow ban and such still in effect.
511 cameras don't look bad. If you're OK with winter driving and leave a little early, you should be fine.
Leave plenty of time, drive safely and you'll be fine.

Made it from Cedar Rapids. West of Marshalltown into Ames wasn’t great. A lot more snow in Ames than CR.
Highway 30 is perfectly fine right now. Wife and I have gone normal speeds the entire way. Go State!
yeah two weeks in a row we have two top 25 teams squaring off and only get ESPN+
