Team just refuses to be as good as it should be.

It's been discussed ad nauseum on here, but I can't figure out why Joe isn't sticking with what works (i.e. Almora/Baez at the top of the order).

It is encouraging to see Rizzo break out of his slump. A lot of promising young pitchers in the bullpen (I know today isn't the day to bring this up). We'll be fine by the end of the season.

Drives me nuts. Need an echo chamber. Can't have a civil conversation.

Hilarious. You guys had a great win, fair and square. That part's undisputed.
But it's never going to go well in the other team's thread to drop in and say "Hey, guys, that was a great win we had."

Doesn't matter what sport, fanbase, or anything. This whole "need an echo chamber" idea is just stupid bs. Congrats on Internetting, I guess.

Cause he’s stubborn AF and doesn’t see the utility in winning if it isn’t winning in the way he deems most intelligent and artistic. And he loves Zobrist, and playing Almora and Baez keep Zobrist off the field.

I do enjoy the "It's just one game, it's a long season, geez" counter, followed by puffing their chests. Over one win. In May.

Yeah I'm not sure if it's a chemistry thing, maybe feeling like he needs to keep certain guys happy. But I'm not in the clubhouse so I can't say that with any certainty.

I love Schwarber and Zo, but Almora needs to be starting every game until he gives you a reason not to.

I really feel like Theo needs to make the decision for him and move someone, because he can’t keep everyone happy in this scenario.

You serious Clark? It wasn’t that long ago when the Cubs were trash. We definitely know it’s a long season. Especially with all the best fans in baseball reminding us constantly about 108. Tables have turned the last couple years and red bird fans can’t stand it.

Ok?

Still a ways off, but the trade deadline could be interesting.
Schwarber has regained a ton of his value and let’s be honest, he’s an AL player. The guy needs to learn how to play 1B and DH and he will stick in the AL until his late 30s. I really like Schwarber but now might be the time.

But only if we know Happ can step in everyday.
Schwarber is fine out there. He's the worst of the 3 when he's out there with Almora and Heyward, but that goes for anyone else we plug in there.

I haven't read the whole thing but I also haven't seen anybody playing the bfib card, which I personally hate, in this thread and I know for a fact I didn't throw it out there so your aggession is misplaced. Going into this weekend's series it was 50/50 over the last 100 games and the game score was even for those games. That's kind of incredible and that is what makes a rivalry which is what this is supposed to be.

Looking to talk baseball is what some of us grown ups do. If you wanna play the historical resume game, you lose. If you want your club to win today then the best manager ever should teach your LF to catch a fly ball. I'm sorry somebody hurt you but it seems to me you're trying to take out some angnst about something you may or may not have heard somewhere in a bar on some people that are actual baseball fans that would never actually say that stupid ****. My guess is somebody talked smack on here or somewhere else and now every Card fan in the world is a the anti-Christ in your eyes. Message boards and sports bring out the worst in people, yourself included. I just don't understand why when some random fan says something, they represent an entire fanbase...except for hawk fans..because we can all agree that they're ********.

I'm Cards fan looking to talk baseball in the most active baseball thread on this board. I get that and am trying my best to be respectful. If you can't handle that maybe you need to sit this one out. I just don't understand why EVERYTHING has to turn into a pissing match.

lol! My posts have been mostly in jest. This loss sucks but doesn’t ruin my day. If you’re going to post in a Cubs thread try not to get your jimmies rustled and lose the air of superiority mmmkay.

I'm curious if you're talking to me personally or your image of a Cardinal fan because I dont think, outside of some good fun, Ive ever talked **** about the Cubs or their fans on this board or anywhere else. Honestly I wish there was a Cards thread but i haven't seen one. Kudos to you guys. The Brewers fans seem fine with me in their thread.

It's sad that an actual baseball fan can't seem to talk baseball unless it's blowing rainbows up the cubs ass. Today was ONE baseball game that was fun to win and wooda sucked to lose. I can say that either way. I'm not here as a Card fan telling you to like it. I'm here as a baseball saying it was a helluva game. That doesn't seem that inflammatory to me.

My jimmies are fully settled and the last thing I'm looking to convey is any air of superiority. This is the most active baseball thread on the board so I'm here for the hell of it while the Cubs play my team of choice. Cubs are set for a great run and it should be a fun summer in the central. Enjoy it Mr. Mackey.

I don't feel like looking back at this point but i dont remember any chest puffing. I said it was a good game as a baseball fan. I've watched a lot of games as a Cards fan that sucked to lose but I could appreciate as a fan. If I didn't relay that then I missed my mark.

Good luck tomorrow.

Bryant, Zobrist, LaStella, and Happ could all play LF.

Zobrist might be too old to be an everyday guy right now.
LaStella isn't really an everyday guy.
Covered Happ. He has the talent, just has to put things together.
Bryant kind of has a position.
Didn’t mean any of them as the sole everyday fix, but as a platoon.
