This game was lost early in the post. As others have noted, Osun was bad. When the score was 20-2, Rebraca had 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists for made 3 pointers, 1 foul. Osun, Ward and Jones were 0-3, all missed layups, 1 rebound and 1 foul.

Rebraca was part of 12 of their 20 points and our post players were at 0. Jones has been great this year. Ward has shown potential. I think Jones needs to start next game with Ward first off the bench. Osun should get 8-10 minutes at the most.

Avoided the game thread until now. Jump from page 3 to 63. Just hoping to skip over Joefrog posts.
This was an absolute a**kicking. Respect to Iowa's effort and performance.
Move on. Women & Men.

Defense looked slow and lacked intensity with no close outs on the three limit shooters. The pick and roll was there a lot but never utilized it. Don’t seem to cut to the basket at all. Then again when the other team can’t miss, what do you do? I think they didn’t go inside enough and pound Rebecca as that was a mismatch that wasn’t taken advantage of.

Don’t mind me. I’m just laying in bed with a decent buzz trying to figure out how an open 3 from the corner can hit the top of the backboard. I want a full investigation done. I need this thing fully mapped out. I want interviews conducted with anyone who had a good vantage point. I need answers.
GK might hit the over the court scoreboard one of these times

Im pretty sure a person of average athleticism shooting one armed 3s couldn't recreate that shot.

I want to know how many times Gabe has swished a 3 and then his next attempt hits off the top of the backboard. I swear it happens every couple games.

He did that at least 4 times last year too. He is insanely bad when he’s off, which is about 90% of the time

This sucks a lot because it was Iowa. Baylor lost to Marquette by 26 and Gonzaga lost to Texas by 19. S*** happens to good teams as well.

Plus there are a lot of flu bugs out there and you don't know if some of these guys are struggling with it.

Was just going to post about the Baylor Marquette game. 26 points....looked like crap. It sucks that ours was against our rival, but it happens.

I’ve already flushed that game.

All I’m going to say about it is…. Lipsey is the real deal folks. And that’s not the first time I’ve said that this year. He’s got IT.

Add in next year’s class, along with a healthy Williams and Tre King …. and we’ll really have something. This year was never going to be much honestly. UNC was nice, but it turns out they weren’t that good. Just build for next year folks!
Me too. And I agree, Lipsey was a bright spot. The other one was Robert Jones. I think that's probably it for tonight.

We need a true 3- point shooter next season, tired of relying on players who get hot 1 out of 5 games.
Hoping Tre King will cure some offensive woes.
Whar Eli King?

Why is it that, for the better part of the past half decade, when we play Iowa, they come out with passion, execute, make big play...and we come out like we haven't ever played organized sports. Little passion....poor coaching...wth. As a fan, I'm extremely disappointed.

They play a lot of Iowa born guys that have been around the rivalry since birth. We play a lot of transfers or out of state guys that don’t understand it as much. Not an excuse, but I think it factors in more than you’d guess.

It’s probably why I wasn’t referring to last years game in my memory when discussing great Cyclone wins in this series. It was the exception and not the rule since about 2017.

Lots of Fs to go around tonight when handing out grades, but TJ gets an F-. Not ready, out coached during, looked defeated the entire game.
I don't agree. Fran certainly had his guys more prepared, but TJ wasn't the one out there bricking open threes.

Cuts across most sports too. It's frustrating and embarrassing how rarely our teams show up for these games.

No, but it looked like our guys just woke up from a nap and their guys looked like they chugged 4 redbulls. I'm not sure who that's on, but its really disappointing to see as a fan in a rivalry game.

Hard to beat anybody that’s red hot from 3 like that and we’re ice cold. That being said, I didn’t see a lack of effort from our guys. If we played in Hilton it could have been the opposite story. It just sucks to see happy Iowa fans that only fill that dumpster Carver for their superbowl.
Most of the guys just didn't have it tonight. Osun, Holmes, Jaz, and Gabe all played like they left their mojo on the bus. That's a lot of upperclassmen playing like freshman. Their old guy had a career night.
