Iowa makes all the easy plays and we don’t. End of story.
People will focus on our punt mishap but the dropped INT was more impactful.
Purdy needs some work on his handoff reads. I think we win if he hands it to the RB on the play he slipped on. There was nothing there on the keep and open space in front of the RB.
Playcalling was mostly fine until our last few plays when apparently we didn’t want to try to get into FG range and decided instead to throw low % passes 3 times.
We got to Stanley so easily but couldn’t bring him down.

What other terrible Iowa teams did Rhoads beat besides the 2012 team they beat 9-6? I was at that game and it was cleary a battle of which team sucked less.
2014 Iowa was a joke. They had to be to lose to our joke of a team in Kinnick that year

I replayed it several times and I don't see it the tackle keeps Jones in front of him and I don't see any grabbing and Jones goes down to the ground in front of him. The tackle probably outweights him 60lbs and a wet field. Maybe the official thinks he sees something in his head but they are B1G officials. Of course they didn't see the clear block in the back in the backfield in clear sight right in front of Goodson's 10+ yard run that sets up Iowa's field goal.
That was a really bad missed call and ended up being really important in a low scoring game.

2 time outs on 4th and 13 and we didn't use one? Just don't understand.

Um...the reason Iowa punted was because of ISU saving their time outs.

Then it was all ISU from there to continue pissing it away.

The offense didn’t turn it over twice. We didn’t have lots of penalties today, but the ones we did have came at critical times. This game was lost on special teams. The non Fair catch in the end zone was the critical mistake’.
The play in the pint cost us a chance. I was actually really pleased with the online play

There were tackling issues on D, especially a couple of times we let Stanley loose when a sack was close, but the D was solid minus the failure to secure even one of the 3 pick opportunities we had.

This team grew from week one and I like where they are headed.

Meh, thought this reads were much better today on the RPO’s. They killed them with it today. On the play he fell down there was nothing going either way but it was definitely the right read.
