I stumbled onto "The Code" - an Aussie thriller in a government / corporate conspiracy kind of genre. Very good. Two seasons of 6 episodes. Lucy Lawless is in the 1st season (Xena) and Anthony Lapaglia in the 2nd. I watched it on flights and hotel in an overseas work trip.

The Haunting of Hill House is a great 10 episode series. It's horror, but a very slow build and big payoff. Both spine curdling and gut wrenching. What I liked best about it was that there weren't very many cheap scares. A lot of it was subtle. I also like the deep backstory provided for each of the characters. There were multiple times I went back to previous episodes because I missed a big AHA moment.

Great stuff
Decided to give this a try. Watched the first episode last week and was pretty 'meh' about it. Decided to try one more episode tonight before I gave up on it. 4 episodes later and I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so I could watch all 10 tonight. Very good! Binge worthy for sure!

It really sucks you in. The backstory for each of the children is what really does it, so it makes sense that the first episode isn't the clincher. Keep a keen eye out for subtle connections. There are a lot of parts that all pull together in the end.

Wrapped up the Bodyguard last night. Liked it a lot and it sounds like there will be another season in the future.

Nearly done with the Coen Brothers' western anthology "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs". Plenty of standout performances - Tim Blake Nelson does especially good work as the title character. I was pleasantly surprised with Tom Waits. He did a lot in his vignette with not much material to work with.

Bodyguard was HUUUUUUGE in Britain. There would have been another season even if nobody watched it in the US.

Right now I’m watching Narcos: Mexico and I love it like I did previous seasons.

Looking forward to watching the Last Kingdom season 3, I’m a sucker for Vikings.

I am about 5 episodes into Money Heist the Spanish heist/drama show. Love the pacing of it and backstories. They get right into the heist and it keeps building each episode. They have options for English but I enjoy hearing it in Spanish/reading English subtitles

I don't want to give away the subject of any of the six western vignettes, most are dark yet thoughtful. And, one is humorous but still dark. I've watched the Coen brothers through the years and Ballad of Busty Scruggs has all their hallmarks: authenticity, eccentric subjects and respect to the viewers to tell a story/parable that ends unambiguously and absorbingly. Recommended!

Just watched the first episode of Maniac starring Jonah Hill (down about 100 pounds TOO by my guess). Before "investing" 9 more hours, anyone have a recommendation to keep going or to bail?

I made it halfway through the first episode and turned it off. I like my scifi a little more straight forward with some action like Altered Carbon.

It was kinda campy and almost seemed to know it and play on it but watched the first season of New Adventures of Monkey this last weekend. It wasn't great but found myself entertained.

I binged A Series of Unfortunate Events because of book nostalgia. Not bad.
I am watching the third season, and was knocked over by the sixth episode, which is a general spoof on conservative law in this day and age.

I posted this in the cave, and I realize everyone doesn't find the same things funny that I do, but in the context of the general program, this is one of the funniest clips I have ever seen. I watched it three times to get all the humor out of it, and probably should do that with the entire episode. The humor is so subtle you have to dig it out.
