Omaha sports talk is constantly discussing Campbell. They all believe that if he is offered, he will take it. I think that arrogance is one of the things they fail to see in themselves, and one thing that CMC would be turned away by. They also fail to take into account, in about 9 weeks Coach will sign the highest rated QB in school history. You have to think he wants to see how that develops. And I can't imagine JJ wants to be a Husker. NU fans also have no sense of the respect and appreciation between CMC and Pollard. Anything is possible, but to leave ISU now for Lincoln, NE, would be giving up a lot of great things and great people and great kids that are counting on him, and inheriting a lot of problems, all for an income increase. That just doesn't sound like the CMC that we know.
To help with sanity, I just wouldn't listen to any noise regarding CMC. In his presser when asked about the firing he mentioned CFB and how coaches have short leashes at certain places and how that affects the young athletes. That statement should show you how he really feels about programs such as Nebraska.

With how confident the Nebraska media is about how Campbell will be the next coach makes me giddy thinking about their meltdown when he signs his extension in December.
If you just replaced Nebraska with Tennessee, or Washington, or FSU, or _______, it doesn't matter. It's all the same. Delusional.

This story is amazing.

Yeah, something about this doesn't make sense. This kid is going into his Jr year of HS (class of 2024). Between Apr 1st and the end of June, he was able to make official visits to colleges and he committed to tOSU last spring.

My understanding of recruiting rules, a HC can't contact athletes off campus until after July 1st before their senior year. So for this kid, the soonest Frost would be able to do a home visit would be 7/1/2023.

That puts in to doubt the idea that Frost was planning to visit, and that Day then did visit.

It was early days of internet but Louisville fans were terrible with that when they thought Eustachy was automatically coming and trolling ISU boards constantly that it was a done deal. It's kind of hilarious in hindsight.

Nebraska reminds me a bit of Indiana basketball fans. They think they still move the needle in college sports when in truth they are largely irrelevant outside of their own heads.

What is that suppose to mean? I don't think Campbell and Prohm are anything alike. Campbell built this program, Prohm was handed the keys to a sports car and told not to crash it.
Hey moron, read the post. Prohm and the others were coaches way over their heads, while Campbell has brought good things to ISU. D.A.

If Nebraska football were a stock it would be Kodak.

They don't understand they aren't relevant anymore, and do not have realistic expectations. Most recruits today weren't alive when Nebraska was rolling.
They’re a laughing stock.

That was amazing to witness, tbh.

The tone was like, "We just got a new UPS hub. Do you have internet in Iowa?"

Exactly... that's why CMC should ask him how his stay was there? I don't think Fred enjoyed much about it.
I doubt he would ever reach out to Fred for the sole reason of he’s not interested in the job whatsoever so there’s no reason to lol
