I understand that. But I think most people would agree up to this point OL hasn't been one of ISU's strengths even with Campbell & Manning's backgrounds.

IMO Campbell is a CEO, not a head coach who gets deeply engaged in position groups. He lets his coaches, coach. Just not sure Husker fans understand who Matt Campbell is.

He's more Kirk Ferentz than Lincoln Riley. He's a culture guy, not a glitz guy. A grinder. Probably what Nebraska needs, but maybe not what most people want.
Gotcha. But I think that to some degree out of all the positions - he still keeps a close eye on the OL. I do agree he lets his coaches coach and is certainly much more a CEO

To the bolded above, every single time CMC has been brought up for "x" school, their fans and the national media fail to understand what makes CMC tick. Do us Cyclone fans know? Well, not 100%, no, but we're going on our 7th year with him as our head coach and he's only shown us commitment to the program.
I think ISU fans 100% know him. What he says, he believes.

Omaha sports talk is constantly discussing Campbell. They all believe that if he is offered, he will take it. I think that arrogance is one of the things they fail to see in themselves, and one thing that CMC would be turned away by. They also fail to take into account, in about 9 weeks Coach will sign the highest rated QB in school history. You have to think he wants to see how that develops. And I can't imagine JJ wants to be a Husker. NU fans also have no sense of the respect and appreciation between CMC and Pollard. Anything is possible, but to leave ISU now for Lincoln, NE, would be giving up a lot of great things and great people and great kids that are counting on him, and inheriting a lot of problems, all for an income increase. That just doesn't sound like the CMC that we know.

All the talk around Lincoln is that the boosters have the money to pay what Campbell wants...you know, as if money has ever been CMC's motivator in his career. Omaha sports radio (and most media in Omaha for that matter) has never been worth listening to. They treat the Huskers like Lincoln doesn't exist.
