Funny thing is that outside of NDSU fans, nobody has heard of any of these players. And you post like you expect us to be scared.

King Frazier, a backup RB, is a former walkon at Nebraska. Not scholarship, but walkon. That is supposed to be intimidating.

Actually, probably half of NDSU fans don't know these guys. I'll go a bit further and bet that for a few of them their own families don't know they play football.

I'm not really worried about this game. If we lose, it will show me that we will be on par with last yr. If we win, we should have. We should walk away with this game and I expect we never see our friend here again if we do. If not, basketball is right around the corner.

yeah not too worried either. we probably win but if not oh well. if we lose its cause we get gashed on the lines and we cannot control line against ndsu then another very long season again. ndsu doesnt really have any star skill players so i am not expecting any fluky victory. if they win it really means we really stink. kind of like when we lost to uni; they gashed us on the run [bad dline and lb]; the gashed our pass protection [bad oline]; our play calling was terribile [bad oc]. the rest looked okay and was okay the rest of the year. 2 of 3 issues should hopefully be resolved or better. i went back and watched ndsu game vs ksu; they are super tough football team. reminds me a lot of kansas state. their coach said though in the press day that there are gonna be growing pains on their oline and i believe him. i dont remember seeing one decent vertical pass by ndsu the whole game. short routes; run the ball; short routes; qb run; run the ball; screen; te pass etc etc. not that complicated. so limited vertical threat; limit the run gashing. it really is irrelevant; 28 points wins it for either team. we get 4 tds we win. mangino gets 4 tds book it.

If we can't run and wear down ndsu then our run game is in trouble all year IMO. Ndsu starting lbs:

226
214
216

backups:
237
208
204

now size isn't everything but not having a single lb over 240 has to wear on you when you play more physical teams.

on the other hand ndsu Oline has some big boys too.

NDSU O line is big. I'd say the NDSU LBS might not be 230lbs but they are workout warriors and better yet, form tackling machines.ITS GONNA BE A BATTLE

Ps cyclone world. Re: NDSU favored by 2The fact that we are a 2 pt underdog against a 1AA team, at home, is embarrassing.

It should not be embarrassing, NDSU is favored by 7-10 according to Massey & Sagarin ratings. NDSU program knows how to win, it's been embedded into their players brains and heart.

now Iowa State always has good talent, it's the attitude of winning that is missing. You guys hopefully start that after August 31

My analysis was spot on, no reason to mock it. Iowa state will get a winning culture at some point, then it'll be contagious like your basketball team

Yes i dont thin i have seen isu go on a 9 minute drive in a decade. Its all on the offense in the rhoads era. The defense believe it or not has been there over and over but after 3 and outs over and over and turnovers over and over there is certain distrust that happens and it really bubbled up last year. A change to a proven oc could make all the difference in the world but maybe not as soon as us fans would like. Kind of wait and see probably i would advise neither fan base to build up guaranteed win in their mind; and both sides are doing it. I still think isu finds 4 tds and wins but not surprised if we dont.

I am not embarrased at all by ndsu being favored we were really bad last year. It was kind of funny watching ndsu beat ksu; they did to ksu what ksu has been doing to everyone for years. Going on these long methodical patient drives that suck the life out of opposing teams. A 9 minute drive to beat ksu on go ahead td impressive. Look at what uni did to us last year we were gashed and that was indicative and not fluky. Ndsu should be favored and everyone should be favored cept ku against isu until we prove we do not stink so bad.

You're an absolute moron. You act like Iowa State has never won a game in our history of playing football. One bad season amongst several exciting seasons with decent teams in recent history doesn't define a programs culture as a "losing culture." Try playing a team that has a pulse, week in week out, for once.

At the end of the day, you're a fan of a team that will do nothing but beat teams that nobody has ever heard of and win D-2 championships that nobody outside of North Dakota cares about.

I get the impression that NDSU football fans think that they do not get just respect from the fanbases of the larger (FBS) schools. The fact that, once a season, the Bison take on a FBS team is apparently supposed to mean that they can "play with the big boys". Sorry, but playing one FBS team a year is not "playing with the big boys".

Whether (or not) you are able to beat Iowa State's football team, Iowa State does indeed play "big boy" football. NDSU does not. Aside from playing in the Big 12 (Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas, OSU, et al.), we play yourselves (3-peat FCS champions and congratulations on that, by the way !), University of Iowa (picked by some to win the Big 10 west division), and University of Toledo (picked by many to win their division in the MAC). Our schedule is tough !! We do not play the University of Incarnate Word the third game of our schedule.

By the way, kudoos on the win at Kansas State last year. My personal opinion is that win (by NDSU) was primarily due to excellent QBing by Brock Jensen and the other seniors leading your team. Kansas State was breaking in a new QB, and I do not think that NDSU would have been able to hang in there with KSU later in the season. But you got the win.

I hope that the weather is great on the 30th and the Bison fans have safe travel. Enjoy the football experience at Jack Trice Stadium (it beats the heck out of playing indoor football).

Big sag good thoughts. NDSU fans know that NDSU already gets respect and we earned the respect and espn gameday visit. It's a program of winning traditions and if we were FBS we'd have 22 more scholarships on top of what we already win with now! that's a scary thought

Even with 22 more scholarships you guys wouldn't be able to compete in a full big 12 season, just look at the other FCS schools who made the move up they aren't have much success even with 22 more scholarships.

So if you don't win by 7-10 points will you leave us alone for good?

Embedded into brains and heart? LOL.....total hogwash.
Strap it up and quit being a jock sniffer. You have no credentials to back up your trash talk.
BTW... you never did tell us what you could teach me about how to play football.
I try to stay above typical message board crap but you have crossed the line.

Like I said, the average football fan has heard and know more about Appalachian state than you guys. That's a fact.

Crossed the line how captain? Where did I say I would teach you about football?

Yes, the mindset of NDSU football program right now is that, total passion and heart, that's a big part of the culture of winning. They are almost afraid to lose, in the media day numerous players mentioned media and other teams thinking NDSU will backpedal this year and that's the chip on their shoulder. (These seniors could finish their careers with a title every year and a 58-2 record! That's something they desperately want and I will cheer them on to do so.

I didn't create the line, or Massey or sagarin ratings, sorry.
