We will be challenged heavily on both ends of the court. Stanford is relatively quick and very tall. Crooks needs to get Brinks in foul trouble and not vice versa. Brown needs to emerge offensively. We need to share the ball and not make it easy to defend us. And Lordy…don’t let them get wide open treys!

Posted this in another thread yesterday. In the paint Brown will have her hands full with Stanford's 6'-3" Kiki Iriafen. She averages a double/double with 18.6 pts and 10.9 rb. She's had a big breakout season. Not sure what kind of perimeter defender she is so maybe that's an opportunity for ISU with Brown able to operate out there on offense.

Being involved in the last game of the day is harsh. I don’t have a great feeling about this one - they have the DPOY plus lots of length and I think paint points will be strongly contested. We’ll need more than one shooter to step forward - we have plenty of candidates for the role. Until then,

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you get one more yard
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part
Yeah, the waiting is the hardest part
Ooh
Is the hardest part
Ooh
Is the hardest part!

Wow - amazing that they have two players that both average a double-double - and combine for 7+ offensive boards a game! That's a huge challenge for Brown / Ny / Bristow at the 4. The good news is that neither Iriafen or Brink shoot 3s very often, so at least it shouldn't be a replay of Maryland

With their size and strength in the paint those players don't need to be (or should be) shooting threes. Brinks can take a couple once in a while but with their size I don't see that in this game but I am no X's and O's guy. Maybe more likely that Crooks could take a few?

Just hope we play loose and have fun because we are at our best when we do. We aren’t expected to win this game by anybody, so nothing to lose. Let’s see what happens.

This is where I’m at too. This year just has a different feel with a youthful roster and CBF seemingly adjusting to the way the game is played now. Not throwing it to the star player for an iso tough shot in the tourney.

It’s been such an unexpectedly fun year and I’ll be sad when it ends…let’s hope that’s not tonight.

On ESPN News depending on who you have.

Funny how ESPN still can't figure out how to properly stagger games, but CBS/Turner does it each year.
