I got asked to be in a NCAA pool this year. It's different than a bracket and it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Was wondering if anyone does/has done anything similar. Here are the rules for this pool:
The TOP 25 rankings will be determined from the March 6th - USA TODAY SPORTS PAGE.
• Teams ranked 1-5 = 1 point teams
• Teams ranked 6-10 = 2 point teams
• Teams ranked 11-15 = 3 point teams
• Teams ranked 16-20 = 4 point teams
• Teams ranked 21-25 = 5 point teams
ANY team not ranked in the top 25, but appears in the 68 team field as selected by the NCAA TOURNAMENT COMMITEE becomes a 6 point team.
SCORING
• The points earned with each teams victory = that teams value (1-6) multiplied by the round number.
** Example: Florida is a 5 point team. If they win their first round game, they would accumulate 5 points. (5 x 1) If they win their second round game they would earn 10 points. (5 x 2) Florida would have earned 15 points through two rounds. (5 + 10)
• Each player accumulates points for all ten teams over the course of the tournament as long as they continue to win.
You get to pick 10 teams. Who would you pick?
