Clyde Lewis was talking about this on his show the other day and I thought it was pretty neat. I don't think it is an alien portal or anything like that, but what do I know.
As of today, they are both gone.
Oddities such as the one in Utah are fairly common in the desert SW. There is a phone booth in the middle of nowhere, directional signs, mailboxes, shoe trees, a pair of Chinese lion statues, various art works, etc., etc.
