This was the biggest tour for me growing up, and influenced a lot of my taste in music, so I'll say this:

2003 Hilton:
Piano Men tour...Billy Joel and Elton John

And the George Strait "Cowboy Rides Away" tour...which didn't make it to Iowa.

Would love any modern 2 Skinee J's concert with 311.

I was at the Joel/John concert. First concert I'd ever been to. It probably won't help you to know it is still one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

We were thinking hard about going to see the Grateful Dead in '94. Decided against it. It was their last tour.

There's not really a tour I've missed. And most of my favorite bands I've seen live (impossible for me to see The Beatles, but saw Paul McCartney live, which is as close as I can get). Really, the only band I haven't seen that I really want to is The Killers, and next time they play Vegas, I think I'm flying out there to see them.

I still regret not paying attention to when Slipknot rescheduled their Iowa World Tour/Pledge of Allegiance show in Cedar Rapids in 2001. Slipknot, System of a Down, Rammstein, American Head Charge, and No One. Mudvayne was also supposed to play, but they dropped the tour after 9/11 happened.

Rage Against the Machine. One of the few 90's bands I can still listen to and rock out and not laugh. Had tickets to see RATM and the Beastie Boys right before they cancelled the tour, then broke up.

"Cowboy rides away" was in DSM....I was there

You're absolutely right. How the hell did I mess that up? Maybe I was so bitter I just blanked it out of my mind!

I did get to see him a few years back at Hilton, with Diercks Bentley as the opening act. We wanted to see the stadium tour in the late 90's but ended up at a niece's wedding in Austin TX that weekend.

that was a great show. I know that they are old, but I am really kicking myself for not seeing Motley Crüe. I wanted to see them since I was in grade school but never pulled the trigger. I also wish that I would have went to see Dave Chappelle last year.

Stevie Ray Vaughan played a small venue in Des Moines. I should have gone.
