Movies you like but can't recommend

The James Gandolfini thread got me thinking about movies that I have liked, but can't recommend because of the content of the movie or how you might be perceived. I'm not talking about movies that have sex scenes or abundant violence that you wouldn't recommend to your mom, either.

For example, I liked 8MM, but I can't imagine recommending it to someone. It's just dark and someone would inevitably tell me to stay away from their family.

Here's a few others:
The Fisher King
Blood Diamond
True Lies (guilty pleasure)
Stranger Than Fiction

Funny you should mention this one. It was on TV the other night and I made the mistake of telling Mrs. Velo that I hadn't read the book when I saw it in the theatre but the girl I went to see it with had so she had to explain to me some of what was going on. Of course that opened up a big ol' can of worms...

True Lies is considered one of the best action flicks of all time (best by some) so I think you can recommend that one without feeling bad.

I'll also add another vote for Requiem for a Dream although I don't think I would ever watch it again myself.
