No need to panic, but I do notice that my "need" to watch the games is diminishing. If the players don't care enough to exert effort, then my level of investment goes down.

We survived the McDermott years and we can survive this. It just means we might have to find something else to watch during games.

Hell, I've been a Rams fan my whole life so I've survived a lot of years of my team sucking. This is nothing new.

All of the terrible years is what makes it so special when one of my teams is actually doing well.

OK, you've gone too far. I'll never forgive McDermott and Chizik for what they did to my prime college years at ISU.

This is nothing like the McDermott years. Good grief.

Never said it was, just reminiscing about a time where I didn't feel the need to watch the games. The Texas game on Saturday was the first time since the McDermott years I turned off a game because it felt like a lost cause.

I just took down my basketball poster from my cubicle wall. These guys will be back next year, better than before, but this season will be done in a couple of weeks, and like the record cold and snow, I'm moving on.

Good God... I would love to see how some of you react when something actually goes wrong in your life.

If you think this is remotely comparable to McDermott's years you clearly didn't watch the games during those years.

It’s really pathetic some are already to the point of resorting to nihilism as a response to criticism of this team’s play. It’s apparently coping mechanism time.

Of course, these same people won’t object to you posting positive reviews, assuming the UT game is an anomaly.

Pop almost blew a 21 point lead last night. He probably needs your basketball brilliance to help him.

Exactly. I laugh at the endless “Coach must be held accountable” and/or “Coach should take a long look in the mirror” statements that come from the armchair ADs on this site. Are things bad right now? Yes. Can they be fixed? I don’t know, but it’s not as if Coach doesn’t realize there are problems and isn’t trying to fix it. And if these random armchair coaches and ADs were in charge would things suddenly be better? And that question is why I roll my eyes at so many posts on this site these days.

Don’t you know that these are the real basketball experts?

Their resumes are just packed with championships. That’s how they know that prohm doesn’t coach these guys.

Apparently the ability to read is lacking here. I merely said Saturday's game was the first time since the McDermott era I stopped watching a game because I saw no way we would have a chance to win.

That is not the same as saying things are as bad as the McDermott era. I just had a feeling during the Texas game I hadn't had since the McDermott era.

Then again, there were games last year that I knew we had no chance in but I watched them anyway. I guess my expectations were way lower last year and I was hoping to see growth.

Way too many games left? We may only have 4 games left this year if we don’t get our **** together.
Why cant you guys just enjoy the rest of this season and the big 12 & NCAA tournament.......I think we have more than 4 games left, if Shayok gets back to form, we can beat anybody who is left on our schedule....

Nice rant by @ChrisMWilliams about our failure to appreciate and stay focused on the success of the women's team. And this was no rant as part of his schtick with Ross on KXNO. I think he really means this one as he has become so passionate about the women's team.

P.S. It was great watching the celebration of the seniors last night. I was especially touched by Middleton's comments about our program as I thought about her having the Tennessee program as her point of comparison!

I agree with your comment about Middleton's comments...I liked the fact that all 3 Seniors really liked the Family Culture that Bill Fennelly has brought to his program......This team might just go a long ways in the ncaa tournament....Go Women's B-Ball.......

And was *this* close to 2-3 losses in the non-conference, and getting swept by Okie State.
You gotta give credit to the players on the 2013-14. They found ways to win. I have no doubt they beat UConn with a healthy Niang. Really unfortunate cause that team was rolling in March.

So you think a Big 12 program is judged on the same plane as a team from the MVC? You are really judging our program against the 300 others even though we are a power 5 school? Wow. Nevermind, I wish you were my boss. Middle of the conference when you were in the best position to win it is mediocre AF. Expectations are and should always be relative. Do you think KU should just be happy to make the tourney?

Attack, you do deserve much better. We absolve you of whatever crime has kept you lashed to this god awful set of teams. Please help yourself to the best teams of every variety, Baylor for WBB, Alabama for football, Duke for MBB, Iowa for Wrestling, etc. You should not have to put up with this crap. Please leave with all our blessings. Exoneration is yours. Be free and happy !
