Props for calling things how they are @ChrisMWilliams

Dribble-drive defense has been terrible for some time and Lindell isn't draftable at this point in time.

I would be curious to hear your thoughts are re: why the downward slide? To me it seems to be lack of forcing accountability by our staff. It's interesting to hear your thoughts on the Lard situation regarding accountability, while our players repeatedly fail on defense and aren't pulled from the game or coached during the game.

Coaching staff not accountable? With the Lard, Talley suspensions?

We ARE going to the tourney and we will finish in the top half of the league which I THINK overachieves from where the experts - sorry anonymous chart board posters - thought we'd be.

If this is what passes for sucks these days I have to adjust my expectations to the ludicrous level.

Having an NCAA Tournament team and not being able to enjoy March. We want a reason to believe, and we're seeing the exact opposite.

You have an NCAA tourney team - no reason you can't enjoy March. This team going to the tourney is all on CSP and the players - you not being able to enjoy March is a YOU problem solely.

I think you're taking my comment a little too seriously.

Personally, this is my favorite time of the year. College basketball is my favorite sport. The NCAA Tournament is my favorite sporting event. When ISU is involved, it makes it even more special. It wouldn't be very enjoyable (and would a complete hornet's nest around here) if we didn't win a game in KC or NCAAs. That's all. If that's a ME problem, then I guess I'm OK with that.

You're conveniently glazing over a strong trend of worsening defense, poor body language and lack of passion. You're also glazing over the fact that the "experts" didn't know as much about this team as we did. The expectation of the staff and many on this site was to finish in the top half.

If you think you've been watching good basketball for the last month, or a team that's together and growing and supportive of each other, or a staff that holds players accountable during games for lack of positioning or poor shot selection.....well, we might not be watching the same team.

That's an apologist post. Defeatist language. Hyperbole. Aim for more friend

The recent play isn’t a reason to believe, that’s valid. A team won’t go far when it can’t rebound or defend simple ball screens. But it wouldn’t be the first time a team that struggled and looked poorly coached went on a run when it became win or go home time.

As disappointing as it is to watch them play like they did against UT (and TCU), it can quickly change. Or in this case, revert back to something like we saw from them in the first half of the year.

Nothing like sports teams to make people fret endlessly. Like all of their fretting and commentary is going to change something.

And all of it pretty much doesn't matter anyway.

There's plenty of things like sports teams to make people fret endlessly. Politics, for example.

I don't think anyone has any illusions about our effect on the game.

Nihilism and fan message boards is a weird intersection.

It’s really pathetic some are already to the point of resorting to nihilism as a response to criticism of this team’s play. It’s apparently coping mechanism time.

Of course, these same people won’t object to you posting positive reviews, assuming the UT game is an anomaly.

I don’t know about panic, but...there’s a chance they don’t win another game this season. @wvu even though they’re bad we aren’t playing well either. Texas tech home, mid seed big 12 tourney game, and 7, 8,9, or 10 seed ncaa tourney game.i love iowa state but that’s reality and it’s a damn shame.

There is not much team chemistry anymore and maybe there is fatigue. The top seven are the only option, they are guaranteed their minutes even if they shoot 0-8, drive 1 on 4, don't box out, or play el matador on perimeter defense. I don't think Prohm wants to make any adjustments.
