Safe House might be a fun place for lunch, not sure if it's the perfect place for lunch with a 3-month-old, but pretty sure it's kid friendly. It has a WWII spy theme, you go on a scavenger hunt while you wait for your food, it's a little gimmicky, but fun.

You're limited with a 3-month old.

Enjoyed the permanent grounds---during the German and Irish Fests. A couple nice restaurants on the river downtown--where you can eat/drink along the water outside

I clicked on this thread specifically to suggest Safe House.

We went last summer during a week long trip from Madison, Milwaukee to Chicago trip. Milwaukee surprised me as how much I enjoyed the vibe of the city. We also had a you child a couple months older than yours at the time.

The public market was a cool place to shop and check out. Foodie paradise.

Don't waste your time going to Usinger

Also drove up and down Lake Michigan on Lincoln memorial drive. I do recommend being safe if you decide to walk on the beach. It smelled like ish and and dead fish. I also barely dodged a needle wearing flip flops that was left by some junkie

Also check out the Wisconsin cheese mart. Fun place to sample a million different cheeses

I would love to get over there again sans kid and make a weekend out of it with the wife

Lots of amazing places to eat, if cuisine is your thing, PM me. 3 month makes it tough, but hitting the lakefront and any of the museum's in that area is nice. Zoo is great. Visiting local small downtowns neighborhoods like Tosa, Third Ward, Cedarburg etc are nice. Harley Museum is a must. The Domes are fun. Plenty of beer making tours available. The Brewers are playing at home, so if you are a baseball fan, Miller Park should be on your list.

You can get a sail charter for about $50-75, though they tend to book up on weekends. I love sailing Lake Michigan, it's like ocean sailing, with fresh water smell. My club has a rigatta this weekend, so there will be a lot of beautiful sails out to just watch.

If your wife is into cupcakes, Julia's in Brookfield , Gigis in Mayfair, and Classy Girl in Milwaukee are my wife's favorites.

If you like big old houses, head toward UW-Mile along lakefront. Also the Pabst Mansion downtown is an interesting.

If your nature lovers head over to the trails at Laptham near delafield.

Milwaukee is one of the most underrated places. Summer here is beautiful, and the lake (s), winter activities, and food/bar scene is outstanding.

We spent a weekend there last summer and the best thing was the frozen custard. I know Leon's was one of the places we went. Kopps was maybe the other.

If you're an early riser, and with a 3 month old I would imagine you have no choice, I would say get yourself up to watch the sun rise over lake Michigan. A couple of summers ago I watched the sun rise over Green Bay and it was beautiful

I grew up near Milwaukee so I know a few things.

I'd recommend the Sprecher Brewery tour in Glendale (north side of the city). Tour costs about $3, is about 30 min. long, and you get free beer and soda at the end in their indoor beer garden. They have pretty good stuff too. I'd call and reserve a spot on the tour today though just to be safe. They usually get pretty full.

I always enjoyed the Milwaukee Public Museum (natural history) if you're into that kind of thing.

Germanfest is going on this weekend too and they always have a ton going on there if you want something outdoors.

Milwaukee is great. Not sure why people from Des Moines are hating on it. The third ward and riverfront in Downtown are incredible. Make sure to go into the lobby of the Art Museum... very cool.
