Jon Miller is saying that ISu won't be able to afford the Master Plan upgrades and if they don't, they should be kicked out of the Big 12 and into the MAC.

Im thinking Jon Miller should shut his trap about things hes not qualified to comment on. Honestly who really knows what ISU can and can't afford besides the people responsible for the money.

Right now hes defending ISU to stupid Hawkeye(redundant?) fans calling in and saying they should go down toDiv. 1-AA.

*sigh*

This post is a perfect example of how to tell the current date is somewhere in July and not (pick-a-football-month-here).

Some guy joked Iowa should move to the MAC.

Yeah, them some Hawk fan said we are a I-AA program.

What would they know, we beat them 6 of the last 8.

Some Hawk fan said they once won a ton of games over us in a row that spanned a few decades. He said some of the games were not even close. Then he called us Clowns!

Those b*st*rds! Lets, lets - get 'em!

This probably was taken out of context. You are correct. My bad.

There is a link for a forum off of it with a funny pick of Herkey on the left at http://www.hawkeyessuck.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=2

Yes, very pointless indeed. I had to look out of morbid curiosity. I see the "admin" posted and then had to reply to his own post.

Pa-the-tic.

Miller was saying that if Cyclone fans do not get on board with Pollard's new plan for facility improvement by giving more money and buying more season tickets... then we could be at risk for moving down to the MAC conference. He said he hopes we do raise the money to take the program to the next level.. but if we don't we will be headed for the MAC... one hawk fan said we are a gateway conference program... Let's raise the money kick their XXX and shut them all up!

First, I appreciate those listening.

What I said was that Jamie has not left any room for ISU fans but these two decisions; you either get on board with his vision, or you cannot complain if it doesn't happen and what ramifications that will have for ISU athletics for the next 25 years.

It's cut and dried. If his vision is realized, which I hope happens and which I think will happen, ISU is on an even playing field with everyone in the north save Nebraska, and on par with OK St, Baylorand maybe Texas Tech in the south.

If not, then consistently competing for titles will likely not happen, due to the imbalance of money coming from athletics...its already a chore for ISU in that department, yet they have done well in spite of it.

There was one caller saying ISU should goto 1-AA, which I certainly disagreed with.

Was anyone else annoyed with the fact that the register ran a large edition on the expansion and in bold words called it a GAMBLE? Sure I know that there is some risk to it, but how do you think it portrays it all to future donors and such. Then they have to brow beat us through the entire article pointing out that we are less than a .500 record in football for the last 5 years and that in basketball we are .538 in the last 5 years. Basically they are trying to portray that our teams don't deserve that kind of additions.

It is somewhat of a gamble, just like Iowa's move was a gamble. You are talking about plans, at either school, that if they are not pulled off, you might bankrupt the program.

But Iowa's move was never reported as a gamble on the front page of the Sunday Register. The media never portrayed the Iowa plans in any kind of a negative light like they are with ISU.
