This is how Nebraska looks at us in Football.

Yeah, Nebraska basketball is exactly like ISU football was back when we were seeking that first ever bowl win.

I mean it's almost impossible to fathom not having won an NCAA game in decades upon decades.

EVER not just decades.

UNL has NEVER won a tournament game. They are the only Power 6 school that can make that claim. Add in conferences like the Valley, A10, American and most of the Mountain West and MAC and that is still true.

Testifying
If Fred didn't like recruiting in Ames, where he had a great fan base and a great arena to pitch, he would absolutely despise recruiting for Nebraska, a fan base that couldn't care less about basketball.
Haymarket area is nice and its a nice arena. Nebrasketball will always be second fiddle to Creighton though.

I get a lot of enjoyment over the years laughing at people thinking this is the year Nebraska won't suck..

It's head-scratching, if not laughable.

When NU finally returned to the NCAAT in '14, the next preseason everyone went crazy on expectations, Nebraska was 21st in 1st AP poll. Seemed to continue somewhat each year after that. For 2018-19, Athlon ranked NU 25th. This year was top 30 in AP preseason

I've even thought Neb could land a tournament bid going into the past couple of seasons, but nowhere near the seed level commonly assumed.

yeah where are all those posters who were suckered into thinking nebraska would be good lol
They were not too bad before Copeland blew out his knee. I wouldn't say they were good, but respectable. They have totally derailed now.

He’s not going to Nebraska. But he’s clearly backed off the idea that he hated recruiting. See his interviews when he was in Ames a couple of weeks ago.

That excuse was clearly always a lie and he confirmed it.

So does Nebraska basketball see themselves on the same level as Duke and Kentucky kind of like their football fans think they're currently shoulder yo shoulder with clemson

I don’t know what Fred has been telling you since your breakup, but it wasn’t a lie that he hates recruiting.

Still does, which is why he prefers a NBA coaching opportunity, just as he did in 2015. That doesn’t mean he’ll retire if the NBA job doesn’t come to fruition, and thus reframing the narrative. If he’s forced to take a college job, it’ll be one in which he doesn’t have to do much recruiting.

And its not like they haven't been to the tournament. 0-7 is a helluva run.

I mean Northwestern didnt go for like 70 years and won a game right out of the gate.

Ranking Nebraska 200th every season makes more sense than putting them in the top 25.

They've never finished a top 32 team in the history of college basketball.
