Thank you to the many, many soldiers and their families for their ultimate sacrifice. May God always bless you and watch over you.

What a great post! I would like to echo these thoughts, as I would like to thank all who have served or who are currently served to help keep our freedom for each one of us!

Let's not forget that this day is to honor those who have given their lives for this country. Not to be confused with Veteran's Day and Armed Forces Day.

Sometime I want to go to Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day and watch the changing of the guard.

It's a powerful thing to witness. My senior class (many moons ago) went there and we were able to present and hang a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier.

Military service has been an obligation in my family since at least the Civil War. I'd just like to offer my thanks to my father(LT Korea), grandfather (Major WWII-Burma) great grandfather(Major WWI-France), and great-great grandfather (Private-Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in Stonewall Jackson's Brigade) and beyond....they fought to ensure myself and my children would live in a free nation.

I was fortunate to lay the wreath spring of my 6th grade year. While an awesome experience, I don't think I quite appreciated it without really knowing all of the significance behind it and I really hope I can go back some day

Thanks to all those who have served--and their families--and have given their lives for our country, and our freedoms.

I went when I was quite a bit younger, and I wish I could go again to re watch it. I thought it was boring at the time, but would like to view it now that I actually understand more about what it means.

This bothered me all day, why did the History Channel have a Pawn Stars marathon on Memorial Day?

I thought the same thing while I was looking for war movies/documentaries today.

I think AHC is an affiliated network and they were running WW II in Color and some series on D-Day most of the day.
