I'm sure this has been asked many times, but I'm on mobile, and between tasks at work.

I recently set up mediacom in our house for the school year and went with their performance package. When I was on the phone with a representative, I asked for a channel list that came with the package, and ESPNU is one that was listed.

After searching through channels, I think they were just flat out wrong. When I turn it to ESPNU it says "channel not authorized". I'm assuming you have to add the sports package, so does anybody happen to know how much extra that would cost me per month? Pretty upset with the misinformation.. That was a channel I really needed to have considering the large number of ISU bball games that will end up there.

Thanks, all.

I think $6.95 but I could be wrong. I know it's less than $10.

I'll echo the others, I'm pretty sure it costs me ~$7/month. You can add and remove it whenever you want though, so I add it in the fall for football and basketball and then cancel it during the summer months.

Is this something they have to come to the house and change, or can it be done over the phone?
They don't have to come out, it's just something they change on their end. The last time I changed it I did it through their online IM system to avoid calling their god aweful call center.

You need the sports pack. It's about $6 a month to start. Worh it come basketball season.

I think it's even cheaper...like $4.99 a month for the sports pack? I actually did the same...added in late November to catch the Cyclone games on ESPN U....and I think you also get NFL network as that package, so pretty good deal for the winter sport months.

I think it's $7.95 for the first package, they run specials occasionally, I think I paid $3.99/month for 12 months when I had it.

Is it possible whatsoever to drop a package that's already included in my plan (for instance, the useless music channels)? Just curious if replacing say, the music channel pack with the sports pack is possible.

The music stuff is just included I think, not it's own package.

I don't think so but could be wrong.

Basketball season is the only time I really miss having cable. Last season I tried piggybacking on a friend's watchespn account but it only worked a couple times before it got cut off.

If you have the whole home performance pack with tivo it should come with it. That's what I'm getting this year. Otherwise 7 bucks bro. You also get espnw, stars and encore, and on demand.

Like others, I add this for FB season and keep for BB season and then drop it. Sometimes there is a 3 month free intro offer.

Regardless, you get Cyclone.TV all year round!
