The first 9 conference games is definitely a tough stretch, the last 9 is much easier. At least on paper.

Only 1 away game in the non-con, but 4 neutral site games. And a MUCH better non-conference schedule than in previous years.

That last 7 games of conference is NICE! Before knowing how each team will do this season, I would be disappointed with anything worse than 6-1 down the stretch. But you never know if somebody will come out of nowhere.

edit: Didn't see the last two games weren't on there.

Classes will be out of session for the UMKC (Nov 25th), NIU (Dec 31st), and Baylor (Jan 7) home games.

For some reason the online schedule doesn't show the @Baylor game March 4th and the OSU game at home March 8th.

It would be nice if they added the last two big 12 games to the schedule including one of the big monday games on cyclones.com

Toughest non con games are Iowa, BYU, and Michigan and two if those are at home. If they can hold court at home they could have their best non con record under Fred.

Personally I don't like that we play Michigan that early in the season. They have a ton of talent and experience. That game could be a disaster IMO. Also the BYU game that early in the season as our 4th overall game and first and only true road game could be trouble. 1 day prep coming off a road game at Oklahoma before the Big Monday game against Kansas is rather inconvenient. Last year we had Tech at home before Kansas on Big Monday.

I do like that we open at home with Baylor. Then our second home game with the students against Kansas. Both those games should be fun. It doesn't get much better than ending the year against Oklahoma State on a Saturday!

First time in 4 years that we are playing 12 non conference games instead of 13 also.

A Michigan win could also catapult us into top 25 consideration if we aren't already there.

I love the Northern Illinois matchup right after the travel and before the conference games start. Nice tune up.

I would agree if we weren't so young/inexperienced and Michigan wasn't full of experienced veterans. And if it wasn't our 3rd game of the year. Not saying it is going to be a disaster, but it is a recipe for disaster.

Say we play them our 9th or 10th game instead of our 3rd game. It could be a completely different game because our team would have that much more experience/chemistry.

its not like we just get to choose when we want to play someone. mich has a thanksgiving tourney, acc-challenge games to schedule around, and we have the iowa date, in-state games in des moines, xmas tourney etc. early november was probably all that could work.
