Hoping somebody here has some info to help me! Every year for the ISU vs IA football game we have a party and I dress up or do something very ISU themed. One year I painted a #1 jersey on me and it was like 40 degrees out and raining, another year I just wore the bib overalls and put a bunch of ISU tattoos and sweatbands on, and last year I put on one of those youth ISU football uniforms.

Anyhow this year I'm thinking about dressing up in a red bird costume as close to Cy as I can. I have found one online that I can rent for $85 plus tax & shipping and has an $80 deposit which is pretty cheap but I'm nervous about the whole ordering online thing and not getting exactly what's pictured! So I was wondering if anybody knew of places in IA that I could rent something like this from? I checked with the Theatrical Shop in Valley Junction and they said they don't have anything like that.

Here's the one I found online... Kind of has the old vintage Cy look

My daugher also has one of those Cy head hats so my other option is to make my own by just buying some red material to throw over my shoulders and hot gluing red boas to it and then painting my face red and wearing the hat.

Ok... now you have crossed the line. It is one thing to get dressed up in a cardinal outfit but now you are actually discussing a combination of things that would be more appropriate to wear to the bars in Iowa City. I understand your desire to make a statement with your costume but that isn't really the statement that you want to make. It could also lead to your daughter being put into protective custody.

I have the perfect solution. Wear this under the costume head. Your daughter will be none the wiser...

I still haven't spread enough rep to get you here. Maybe C-Willy needs to talk to Obama to loosen up the restrictions here. :biglaugh:

That costume is sweet. Either go to the book store and buy one of those sticky "patch on" I-State logos to it or just go with a white road jersey to make him look even more like Cy.
