Marty on 1700 this afternoon

I always listen to KXNO (morning and afternoon drive), but recently I have been switching over to 1700 during commercials because they cut to break at different times. Today he was totally backing the Cyclones and ripping on Iowa callers. I really enjoyed it. I was under the assumption he was a Hawk guy, but maybe not.

Should I give this guy a shot in the afternoons, or should I stick to Miller and Brinson, who, as of late, have been talking a lot of NFL, while I prefer college football.

In my opinion, Marty is by far the best in our listening area. Make the switch. He might get a little crazy at times, but I find him very easy to listen to and definitely knows his stuff. The only time that I can stand listening to Miller & Brinson is when they are talking Cyclones. I can listen to Marty no matter what he is talking about.

If you are able to listen to the KXNO morning guys you can certainly handle Marty or anyone else on the radio. I have to assume you are deaf.

I have XM, but I prefer to listen to local sports radio during my commute. I can only take so much of Mike and Mike.

I actually enjoy Travis Justice. I went to Creighton and spent some years in Omaha, so I understand every time he has a Creighton or Husker reference.

Marty is not a Hawkeye. He gives plenty of crap to both sides. Marty is the best in Des Moines. A lot of people don't get his schtick, but I think he's hilarious. I especially like when he talks high school sports because he can be such a condescending ***.

Marty is the definition of a shock jock...so if you like someone throwing a bunch of **** against a wall to see what sticks and gets people riled up, then you probably would like him.

He's, uuuuhhhhh, a, uuuhhhhhh, really, uuhhuuhhhh, annoying. He is a Hawkeye and a Husker which is really all that, uuuuhhhh, needs to be said.

His opinions are biased bull, but what really annoys me are the, uuuuuhhhhh, pauses in his speech. Absolutely unlistenable.

I'm actually warming up to Miller and Brinson...except I don't like all the NFL talk, and MLB talk is one of the worst talk radio subjects that any radio show could do so I'm not too keen on that. I think Brinson actually matches up a lot with Ken than Giggles did.

I sometimes enjoy Marty's show. But the one thing that drives me crazy is he always will ask a question and then re-ask it 2 or 3 more times in a different way before he actually lets the other person answer. Drives me crazy. I wish he would just ask his questions and then shut up and listen to the answer.

Miller and Brinson kill me. Ken is so annoyed with Jimmy B, it's hilarious. I remember the first day they were on the air together, you could tell in Ken's voice he thought they had made a bad hire.

Brinson has a great rolodex, like Cotlar. Too bad he is only as insightful as Cotlar too. He has cooled down on his annoying radio voice though.

Marty will say anything to get people riled up and get listeners. He is annoying but knows how to get people going and drive up ratings.

Marty is all right sometimes, like everyone said, wants good ratings.

Remember back in August he was completely bashing ISU saying we would get stomped by Iowa, wouldn't be close, and that Jamie Pollard should just leave now and get us in the MAC before the Big XII fell apart. That's when I stopped listening.
