Come on, you're seriously gonna tell me that you don't wanna kick off the new year by watching Ohio vs. Southern Miss or Cinci vs. Central Michigan? :angry6wn:
Weird, right? :rolleyes5cz:

galles15--I don't know if there are so many new bowls, but probably just a change in the title sponsor's name.

Houston isn't there because they had $$ issues, and owed people too much money. (Anyone know if they ever paid us/BigXII for last year?) So CFB didn't award them their contract or whatever for this season.

But, some sports group (group that owns the Texans, or something, I don't really remember) went and got the contract to host in Reliant Stadium - the name "houston bowl" is "taken".
But yea, it's in Houston, in Reliant. Technically the "new" houston bowl, but different people, and I have no clue if the Houston Bowl comes back next year or of Texas bowl stays.

what is up with all these new bowls. some of them I have no clue why they exist. I remember playing the boise bowl or something like that up at boise st. now that bowl isn't there because boise st. is goin to a bcs. Now we have a New Mexico bowl that New Mexico makes. Wtf. Why not have an Ames Bowl and invite our 4-8 Cyclones play Baylor at Jack Trice. When teams like Iowa 6-6 can make it to a bowl you have to know there is too many bowls. I am all for a playoff system where the top 16 or 32 teams go to a playoff style championship. This would also resolve the Michigan vs. Florida controversy.

Please do a little research. The "Boise Bowl" is the MPC Computers bowl. Where the Canes take on powerhouse Nevada.

Are we picking worst bowl name? I vote for the Papajohns.com Bowl.

followed closely by San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia bowl and the Gaylords Hotels Music City Bowl.......you gotta love corporate sponsorships that only make bowls seem less legitimate.

If Florida manages to upset Ohio State this year, Iowa will have faced several former National Championship teams in bowls in the past few years -- LSU, USC, Florida, and now Texas.

Strange, hmm?

So after the International Bowl, will Brian Kelly leave with Central Michigan or just get on the Cinncinati plane?

I'll second the sucking of Papa John's pizza...vastly overrated. Too much crappy sauce for my liking. Now where's my HomeTeam grease-pizza with the side of butter for extra greasiness???

Am I the only one who doesn't mind Papa John's?? I guess anything doused with garlic butter tastes delicious.

I can handle their ranch and alfredo pizzas. Their sausage is clover-shaped, though - suspiciously like dog food. I choose to pass. :rolleyes5cz:

I don't actually hate it that much but it's definitely at the bottom of the "delivery pizza" chains for me. I think I hold a grudge because those who do like it just go nuts for it...kinda like rooting against Nebraska because of their fans.

I like their BBQ chicken. If memory serves Papa John's was started by a former Pizza Hut employee - in my hs years I used to deliver for "the slut" and they were constantly preoccupied with how much market share Papa Johns was taking from them.

Pizza Ranch is my current favorite - love the buffalo chicken!:yes4lo:
