I'd had the book Falling by T.J. Newman on pre-order for months based on early word of mouth. I finished it in less than two days. Can't remember the last time I read a book that fast. It reads like a great movie and if it's NOT made into a movie I'll be shocked.

The basic ten second elevator summary is this:

You just boarded a flight to New York from L.A. There are 143 other passengers onboard.

What you don’t know is that thirty minutes before the flight your pilot’s family was kidnapped.

For his family to live, everyone on your plane must die. The only way the family will survive is if the pilot follows his orders and crashes the plane.

I'm in the book business and can vouch for this one. Very popular right now, and getting starred reviews from many of the industry review sources. The author sketched out the plot for this on red-eye flights when she was a flight attendant. This one is next on my TBR list!

Yeah it's very impressive how this was written, sketching ideas and plot lines out on napkins during red eye flights. Good for her.

I’ve recently read “Killers of the flower moon” on recommendation of a friend and it was great! I’m a bad (impatient) reader but finished it in a couple sittings. This one sounds great and will give it a

I hope they give the author a cameo as a passenger or something. Her blue/green eyes on the inside back of the dust jacket are quite lovely.

If they found a stellar choice for the main older female attendant, that's a role that could be nominated for supporting actress.

I bought this book, based on this recommendation and I gotta say, I'm very disappointed. Admittedly, I'm not very far into it yet, but so far, I gotta say, I couldn't care less if these people lived or died. The author comes up a liiiiiitttttle bit short on character development.
