We can be loud and rowdy without booing. Boo EIU? Of course. Nebraska? Without a doubt. With the service acadamies it's about respect. They are making sacrifices that most in our society are not willing to make.

Yeah, it's just a game but because so is no excuse to dis our nation's TRUE heros.

Anyone booing better not be sitting anywhere close to me.

One would think that with all the technology dollars that goes into the defense department, they could figure out a way to make a "stealth uniform."

Coach: "Johnson! Why didn't you cover that guy? He was wide open for that toucdown grab."

Johnson: "But coach, I didn't see him. It's like he came out of no where."

I will not be one booing (I do not even boo Iowa) so the only reason I ask is out of curiosity.

You just an internet tough guy or are you going to lay someone out? If you are going to lay someone out, I want to come over and watch!

Yes, I'm positive it can be heard. As players, I doubt they really think about it a whole lot though. But, I would still rather be in favor of showing a little more respect to this team (and still beat them by 40 points).

You won't boo, but you advocate running up the score on them?

Resurrecting this thread. I believe the Rag mentioned something today about cheering Army as they take the field. I'm down with that. I'd feel bad booing a service academy. After kickoff tho, yeah let's roll up the score.

You know, I'm all for not booing them...but I am more than a little questionable about the dog and pony show that they are rolling out for this game per the Register's article. Am I alone?

ISU has one of the top ROTC programs in the country for a non-military affiliated schools. They're rolling it all out for those kids.

I was hoping to get a camo shirt made in ISU colors with an I-State logo on it. Thought it'd be nice way to show respect and still sport ISU gear.

but from a distance or on tv, you'd look like an army fan, not an ISU fan. I don't like that idea.

Let's not boo Iowa either. They're Iowan. Let's not boo Nebraska. That's like booing America. Let's not boo Baylor. They're a religious school, and booing them is like booing Christianity.

This.

IMO, either any opponent is OK to boo, or none of them are.

This. I will boo if the general sentiment is to boo. I am not booing the Army or their recruits or any men that have sacrificed health and life...but I would and will boo their football team. Why? Because this is college football not preschool soccer. Go ahead and lay me out tough guys.

Come on boys and girls. These are guests in our house. Grow up. I think the 1,2.3.4 clap we do at the Bball games would be fine. I hope you don't Boo your guests at your house when they arrive.
