Prediction: La Tech 28, Nebraska 21. Latest tripe out of Lincoln:

Rain at start of game. 71.

George Darlington, ex Tom Osboren coach, is defensive coordinator for La Tech.

They plan to take three step drop and throw against the inexperienced secondary. Two of their backups are converted receivers and that is not a a good sign for the Red. The four guys up front have four backups. The three linebackers have an excellent cast of six l/b. In fact, expect Red to play 4 l/b at some point in future (ISU?). The great Steve Octavien is now a secopnd stringer behind local favorite Bo Ruud.

No true starter at running back - so no feelings hurt yet. Kenny Wilson is probably third string.

Great offensive receivers in Herrion and Purify. Weak secondary. Throw and they will score.

Swami Prediction:

Iowa State 34, Toledo 21.

McC was on Omaha radio today. Stevie Hicks at 212 is faster and quicker than ever. Jon Davis had a miraculous recovery for Achilles. Milan Moses and Chron's disease - had three surgeries (incl 2 major ones). At "Tuba" Rubin is trying to get in shape frantically and is down to 318 after practice. The eight defensive line guys will all play.

Put it in the bank if the siren works as scheduled and the tunnel inflates properly. Rockets eventually fall back to earth.
