No hints, but having it done was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Hopefully your experience will be as good.

It's going to feel like you have broken shards of glass in your eyes for the first few hours after. Take a 2-4 hr nap (use Tylenol PM if nec.) when you get home and when you wake up it will feel 50% better. By the next day you should feel pretty good with very minor irritations, if any.

Lots of eye drops as directed by your doctor. I found that keeping them cool in the refrigerator helps to some degree. Your eyes will be very dry upon waking up for the first few weeks but it gets better every week. I am still using drops 6 months out but only once or twice a day.

Call your doctor if anything at all seems out of the ordinary. You paid for it.

I got it done in July and overall am very happy with it. However, I wouldn't say my night vision is ideal yet. Halos and all that junk are common as your eyes adjust. Good luck.

It took about a year for my wife's vision at night to get back to normal. Otherwise she's very happy that she had lasik.

Just don't think about it. As for What AIT said, You will see halo's around lights for awhile. They will tell you that you can return to work the next day, but if your work requires night driving- forget it. They will slowly go away. I had lasik in June and I still have some problems with halo's, I'm hoping that everyone is right about it taking up to a year to completly heal.

They screwed my bosses up a couple months ago, left him with a bubble type thing on his eye, lots of headaches, nausea, etc. Have to wait a few months to fix it. Happens to like 1 in 450 they said, so you'll pry be fine!

$3,900 with employee discount. I have waited a few years for it to go down but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere so I bit the bullet and did and FSA.

Had lasik from Wolfe clinic in 4 years ago and just checked out at better than 20/20 a couple weeks ago. Best thing I ever did (besides the wife and baby thing ).

They told me not to remove the protective guards intil the 24 hour exam. My eyes got really dry about 5-6 hours after the surgery and were extremely dry when I went in the next morning . I toughed it out, but complained about it when i got in- and they go "oh, well you could remove the guards for that!". So long story short, you can put rewetting drops in anytime and all the time.

I may not have had the normal experience after reading some of the above comments but I did have a job that involved driving when I had mine done. I was back at work the night of my 24 hour checkup. I never experienced halo's or any problems at all when driving at night. I also checked out at at 20/20 in one eye and better in the other at that 24 hour mark. 4 years later my vision has remained the same. I know my experience is probably as rare as those that have major complications but I would recommend this surgery to anyone. Good Luck!
