TCU crumbling like last year. 7-11 conf record wouldn’t surprise me out of them.
They don't have a guy who can go get you a bucket when the game is getting a little out of hand.

Sounds vaguely familiar to a certain team this website may follow closely...

Kansas very rarely goes 6+ minutes without a bucket. TCU it seems like they went the last 10 without scoring.

Here is an incredible stat: in the two games between TCU and KU this year during the final 4:30 minutes, KU outscored TCU 22-13 - WITHOUT scoring a basket. In a tie game at TCU, they scored 13 points from the free throw line while TCU scored 9 points all off of baskets (0 FT).
Tonight with just a 2 pt lead going into the final 4:30 minutes, KU outscored them 9-4 with all 9 points coming from FT’s while TCU had 0 FT’s. So that would be 22-0 on FTs during the critical end of the games in tight games (not where a team is fouling early and often just hoping to close the gap). And we think we have it bad with officials.

I think TCU will finish with 8 wins which will be enough to get them in. I think that is pretty good considering Fisher is hurt. He is their best pure scorer at guard or wing.

Mitch Lightfoot playing way too much. Is DeSouza that bad?

Lightfoot is decent. His PER in conference is 18 and he is a great shot blocker. The problem he has is that they have to play him at the 5 a lot which he is too small. He would probably benefit from a redshirt year. He would be playing a ton of minutes for ISU.

DeSousa is just so far behind scheme wise that who knows if he will make a meaningful impact this year.

That is absolutely insane!

I can't recall Ku ever looking this vulnerable.

And as for TCU, Pitt fans were tired of Jamie. What came afterward surely makes them rethink that sense, but he'd worn them out before leaving for Ft. Worth.

I watched the end of the game, the refs didn't seem that bad. TCU just failed to finsih

Well, some fans are dumb. Went to 10 of 12 NCAA tournaments.

Correct, it's hard, very hard in fact. Here's an excerpt from the Pittsburgh newspaper following his 2016 departure. I've asked the columnist if he's written a followup given the mess that is Pitt hoops today.

"Do you know how hard that is? No, the program didn’t make it to a Final Four. It hasn’t advanced beyond the first weekend of the NCAAs since 2009, and the horrendous first-round loss Friday night to Wisconsin is an open, oozing sore. But people forget where Pitt was when Howland/Dixon took over in 2003. The program was an embarrassment, a joke. Dixon built on what Howland started and turned it into a national program. He has spoiled everybody here. And if he felt underappreciated, it’s hard to blame him. He deserves great appreciation for his work."

Well at least you got close to the correct conclusion (see in bold above). 7 of the 9 FT's KU made in the closing minutes were due to fouls TCU committed while trying to extend the game. Vick made two FT's with 3:20 left. All of the other FT's KU attempted down the stretch were the result of "intentional" fouls by TCU.

With your skill in the use of selective omissions, you should apply for a job with Congressman Nunez. I will now provide the democratic rebuttal memo.

Here's a breakdown of KU's possessions in the last 4:30 of the game and we will let the facts determine if the refs gifted something to KU or not.

1. Graham turnover 3:53 to go
2. Vick clearly fouled on drive to rim 3:21 to go
3. Azubuike intentionally fouled 2:47 to go
4. Vick missed jumper 2:05 to go
5. Graham missed jumper 1:05 to go, offensive rebound then Graham fouled intentionally :49 to go.
6. Graham fouled intentionally :31 to go.
7. Newman fouled intentionally :16 to go
8. Graham fouled intentionally :09 to go.

So EIGHT possessions and just ONE of them are even quasi debateable as "the refs" and it was clearly a foul. But cool post; you got a few people fired up with the way you selectively worded it.

..

March will be interesting for this KU team.

Not really. Plop, fizzle, dissolve..
Not many knowledgeable Kansas fans expect anything different..
Just hope they can get "hot" and win a couple games before they exit "early".
