Our team just needs to worry about the game in front of them and nothing else. Whenever we take a team for granted or start looking ahead or getting caught up in the hype machine and accolades is when this team loses focus and we get a clunker like what happened at TT and OU. Focus on winning the game in front of you and not worry about anything else and when the dust settles then we'll see where we stand. KU didn't win all these conference titles over the past decade by worrying about what type of schedule or who has to beat who, they just went out and played their game every night. Yes all the talent they have has something to do with it too but that talent also knew what it takes to win. We have just as much talent as KU this year IMO and it has shown in the 2 games we've played them but the difference other than the venue the games were played in was that when KU got down to us in the Phog they had the mental toughness to do what it takes to win while we fell apart and started playing with a lack of discipline once we lost the lead. We've had several examples this season where this team loses focus and doesn't stick to the way they win games and hopefully down this last stretch of games we start to see some more consistency - especially on the road - where when faced with a key moment in the game we take control of the game and not stray from our game plan and let things snowball like we have done too many times.

The one ahead of us is reason enough for this. We've won twice there in 25 years (last year and 88!) I suppose that 84-85 is technically in there, oh well.

Agree. ISU has 6 games to go. You have to win 6 games in a row to win the national championship come NCAA Tournament time. I hope to see this team use these 6 games as a practice run for the Big Dance... every game the season is on the line, there is no tomorrow, bring the intensity like they are playing with the entire season on the line, and most importantly rise to meet the challenge when adversity hits.

When this team gets jacked up for games... really jacked up they do what they did when KU came to Hilton, or when Arkansas came to Hilton, or when they played Iowa over in the slum of Eastern Iowa. Bring that intensity, focus, swagger, and play.

Its too hard to predict anything in this league. We just need to get better and execute and we should win most of our remaining games. Time for us to go on a 15 game winning streak!!!!!

We lost the outright big 12 Title in Lubbock.

By the way, best case scenario is we tie with KU to claim a share of the title, does it really matter if we're 1 or 2 seed in the tournament? We're opposite KU either way and teams 3-8 are all really equal.

This. Silly to talk about ISU winning/sharing the title. We have a very tough road ahead of us. People are setting themselves up for unnecessary disappointment. I will be thrilled if we can go 1-1 this week.

Keep in mind that Kansas is 6 points on the road away from having lost 5 road games in the Big XII. They lost to Iowa State, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, and they beat Baylor by 1 & TCU by 3. It's a bit premature to just hand them the Big XII title yet. They face OU on the road and instate rival K-State on the road... neither of which will be easy. They then face a more then capable Texas team in Lawrence and a West Virginia team in Lawrence that just beat them... neither will be easy games. Then lowly TCU... what should be a for sure win for the Jayhawks. I'm sure that is what Okie State thought before they went out and lost by 15 to the Frogs.

Saying ISU already lost any shot at the title is giving Kansas a pass on 5 games that could be difficult down the stretch.

if your scenario plays out, then Iowa State would want the following teams to get 3rd:

West Virginia, Oklahoma St.,

would not matter: Oklahoma, Kansas St.

if one of these teams get 3rd, then Kansas is the 1 seed: Baylor, Texas.

That is good news, and I don't see Baylor or Texas getting up that high. Baylor, maybe, but they have been Jeckyll and Hyde whereas UT has mostly been Hyde.

Texas Tech. Freaking Texas Tech.

Nobody disagrees that this was a bad loss. However, to look at our 4 remaining road games compared to KU's remaining schedule, I find it difficult to believe that the Tech loss will end up having any bearing on a "1st place" quest. Maybe the team will prove that wrong, however. Hopefully it wont have a bearing on achieving 2nd or 3rd.

Both teams should win out, but you never know they way this season has gone.

KU will likely be an underdog in Norman. ISU will be a dog at OSU on Wednesday and maybe in Austin too. ISU could be an underdog in Manhattan too depending on how the games from now to then go.
