I enjoy Steve Stone quite a bit. He and Ed Farmer were great on the radio together, but moving Steve to television was a good thing

Wow. Clones21 is a ******* Cubs fan. Who coulda guessed?

Complaining about a homer announcer is just stupid, especially your crosstown rival. You don't hear me complaining about the giant dump Wrigley is, or how awful Santo was...

First off I would never be caught trying to convince someone that Wrigley isn't in desperate need of repair, however calling it a dump is beyond ridiculous...try checking with 95% of the other baseball fans in the U.S. and see what their opinion is...are they all brainwashed by ESPN and the other media??

On Hawk the Idiot....I see a difference between a radio announcer and t.v. announcer but maybe it's just me. I wouldn't have near the problem with Hawk if he was on the radio because he wouldn't be as noticeable and for some reason I have come to expect a lot more bias on radio broadcasts, maybe because of Zabel. I mean his idiocies are bad enough, however last time I made a wrong turn on the remote I stumbled across 5-minutes of dead silence before Hawk ruined it by pulling out one of his cutesie nicknames for a White Sox player, so adorable.

Also he looks drunk half the time during pregame.

I agree.

I can't watch WGN when the Sox are playing a team I actually want to watch because I can't stand listening to that guy. He's really the only pxp person I honestly hate listening to. Not a Sox fan anyway, but he certainly doesn't make me want to ever try.

I find his signature "He gone!" beyond dumb. It sounds like in his first broadcast he blurted out something incoherent while wildly excited and just decided to adopt it as his catch phrase.

Hawk is just awful. Michael Kay is hit or miss. I like Bob Uecker.

No one is worse than Joe Buck or Joe Morgan. Holy ****.

I am a huge Sox fan and I have really gotten tired of the act. I dont mind that he is a Homer. I mean its not like they are broadcasting to a generic audience. most people who watch the White Sox are White sox fans, that really doesnt bother me.

But I will say I cant stand it sometimes is very annoying. you just have to get used to it.

I can't stand it when people hate on Hawk Harrelson, really. He broadcasts the White Sox games for White Sox fans, if you don't like it, don't watch it or find your team's broadcasts. He doesn't broadcast nationally televised games, so I really don't see the point that he is a fan as a big deal. Hawk may be the biggest fan in the ballpark of the White Sox, he wants to see them do well and he's upset when they don't. I mean, would you rather listen to the boring, dull commentator or listen to a guy who is rooting for your team just like you?

Yes, I'm a Sox fan.

Hawk Harrelson is extremely unprofessional in the broadcast booth.

I say that not as a Twins fan, but as an aspiring journalist.

I hate Hawk but I applaud him for going off like that, umps are the biggest joke ever. That ejection was a disgrace to baseball.

Baseball umpires have nothing on NBA referees. They're a disgrace to the officiating profession.

I agree. Just terrible. Guys do indeed need to be held accountable, that was horrible. It looked to me like De Aza was the target of that pick-off play at 2nd as well. Tampa Bay has done all the damage yet the White Sox are the team with a player ejected...just not right.

PS: Here's part of Hawk's rant.

I think all umps/refs are a disgrace to the officiating profession.

That I'll disagree with. Some of them are very good and very professional at what they do. However, when it comes to the NBA there is a blatant disregard for the rules, then as soon as someone even looks at a ref they toss out a technical.

And Hawk, maybe you should go back to communications classes...especially when they discuss the "professionalism" part of being an announcer. You're as much a disgrace to announcing as Wegner is to umpiring.

I was being more sarcastic with that comment than anything. I don't think all referees are a disgrace but I think all umpiring/officiating has gone down hill the past couple years. For umpires, most of the their mistakes would be corrected with instant replay but Selig doesn't want to expand it for some reason.

I hear a whole lot of indignation but I haven't heard enough of the context. I know AJ was hit earlier in the game, probably in retaliation for a questionable slide yesterday. What I haven't heard, was whether or not warnings were issued after AJ was hit? IF they were, tough ****, you were told not to do throw at anyone and did anyways and the ump is well within his rights to eject the pitcher. IF, however, no warnings were issued then a better case can be made for the ejection being egregious.
