I've only ever been to the one downtown (walking distance from the Marriott) but your description also describes this one as well. The Peanut just off the plaza is my favorite one. Super small and the food is always on point.

Also - wear a poncho. The wings at the Peanut are monstrous and delicious. We call them pterodactyl wings.
I need that Italian beef in my life.
We usually hit Bobby Bakers, Gilhouy's and Kellys, but now I have to add The Peanut and Jim's to the list.
Just a FYI, that Plaza Embassy has gone down the crapper. Stayed there for years too. Shame.Kelly's is the place. Marching band will play outside around 7pm. Always full of Cyclones.
Happy Hour at the Embassy Suites Westport, gonna bring back old school Big 8 Tourney Vibes.
I've had Town Topic after a TON of beers and that always hits the spot. The wings at the Peanut on Main are legit. So is the Italian beef at Jim's. Had both yesterday. May have to go back to Jim's for another beef before we head home.
Those two are by far my favorite. The others in the burbs are much larger sports bars.I've only ever been to the one downtown (walking distance from the Marriott) but your description also describes this one as well.
I was underwhelmed at turnout years ago for the KState games. How many fans do you all think we'll bring? I was thinking at first maybe 25k but now I feel like we'll bring maybe 15k....still a solid number but I want to outnumber KU fans
