Look at the town history of Skidmore in general. There is a documentary on Prime called "No one saw a thing" that discusses the crazy events of that town. Several murders and people missing over the years.
This town kind of reminds me of the bar in which Bohannon got knocked out by the former ISU football player. It's located in the middle of Iowa City and yet nobody came to Bohannon's defense.

That tells us more about what your perception of Iowa State is than anything else.
We're not going to be in a mid major. Lol you can look at this a few different ways. Obviously you can think we're getting into the B1G, which is pretty darn optimistic but it's not impossible. You can think we're going to be in some watered down version of the Big 12, which is pretty darn pessimistic but also not impossible. Then you have the most likely scenario (IMO), which is we're in some sort of merged version of the Pac-12.

That article published that talked about the Wazzu AD and the Pac-12 Commish showed promise that they indeed do what to expand, they just don't know when or who they'll want to take.

So when Rutgers starts winning again with their top 15 recruiting classes and Schiano packs the place every week Rutgers is still going to be a bad choice? Can you look at anything past the last 2 years? Rutgers is historically a better program than Iowa State. The long run isn't even here they have only been in the league for 10 ******* years. You keep talking about ISU like we are a perennial football power. You act like the standings now are going to be the same for the next 30 years. Maybe Maryland hires a good football coach and start winning and Penn State starts losing? Who knows ? You can't sit there and say programs suck, have always sucked, and have no chance of ever being good. Especially when you are an Iowa State fan.
The point that Rutgers has a better football past then ISU is debatable as hell. First the most games they ever won in a conference is 5-2, and that is in the Big East. Since joining the Big 10, the most conference games they have won is 3.
The problem with looking at historical records is you have to also factor in what conference you played, not just wins and losses. WV would be a great example of that, they like Rutgers has seen their win total drop since leaving the Big East and playing in a higher rated conference. Schiano best season at Rutgers was 2006 they went 11-2 overall, 5-3 in the Big East and played 2 ranked teams the entire season.
Rutgers will be improved, their recruiting is going up, but they will always struggle with wins just because of the teams in their division.

Yep, and they have to wait to do anything concrete until the agreement on the OU/UT exit is finalized, but that doesn't mean that they cannot plan, and I think that's exactly what they're doing. The PAC 12 has already become almost irrelevant, and the SEC moves made it worse. They cannot afford to stand pat, and the addition of the former Big 12 members makes it a lot stronger (even if not as strong as the SEC or Big Ten). Probably 3rd though, above the ACC.

Easier to get a liquor license in Missouri?

Not that I'm aware of. The difference is that in Iowa all liquor is owned/sold by the state. In MO the distributors own and sell the liquor so they are able to deal down on their prices. The state of Iowa makes like 35 points on every case that goes out their door and all sales are at a single case price.

Yeah I had to look this up.. We actually have more bowl appearances than they do. And obviously they have a couple 11 win seasons, but for christ sake the one in 1976 was against garbage opponents. 1 team had a winning record. There 11-2 season was a good one, but again they only beat 1 ranked team.

I'm not here to say we're better than them historically or anything along those lines. We still don't have a 10 win season (even though we reach 11 wins if we have a normal amount of games last year). But you could certainly argue that we have similar histories and the fact we've consistently played in a much better conference than them helps our case immensely.

The Pac 12 isn't adding Big 12 teams. They may work out an agreement where the Big 12/Pac 12 have some sort of TV partnership but they aren't combining.

Used to be that way in Iowa. Also bars couldn't be open on Sunday unless a certain percentage of their business was food. Dugan's made a killing on Sundays back then.
Long John Silvers used to sell tap beer. We sometimes stopped by there on a Sunday just to buy a few beers.

LJS fish planks + malt vinegar + tap beer = mud butt

Even when they've been good, they haven't exactly excited the masses. Also, Schiano may be a good football coach and recruiter but he's also a time bomb. It's more likely that he'll be released for some type of bad behavior than he turns the program into a consistent winner.

You need to stop thinking the rest of the country is as excited about ISU football as ISU fans are.

FWIW: As of this morning, ABC/Disney is worth $320 billion. Amazon is $1.7 trillion, and Apple is $2.44 trillion with almost $200 billion in CASH RESERVES. If the tech companies decide to dip their toes in live sports (and all indications are that they plan to), ESPN can’t play ball. Why do you think they’re playing dirty now?

Yeah the Pac-12 has a few choices and from everything I've read and heard, they're not that interested in joining the B1G. They have to do something though. The B1G doesn't have to make as much of a big move because they're far more stable, but they are 100% still playing around with the idea.

I'd guess once legit conversations start between the Pac-12 and "whoever", the B1G will get involved.

Now that Rutgers is pulling a bunch of 4 stars, watch them drop off of Iowa's schedule when they get really good. Iowa has a knack of things falling into place like that for their schedules.
Iowa plays Rutgers 4 times in the next 5 years FYI.
