If K-State holds on against ASU (Up 53-48 as I’m typing this), and beats Kansas on Saturday… are they a bubble team?? Would be 6-6 in Big 12 play with wins at Iowa State and home against Kansas. Just a thought and discussion point.

Just a crazy turnaround from three weeks ago when everyone (myself included) thought they were dead in the water and looked like they packed it in for the year.

Was just talking about this in another thread. I don’t see them doing it but they have a remaining slate where they can win out if they keep playing like they have. Even if they lose two they’d have something like 19 wins overall and a winning league record. They’d be in not a bubble.

EDIT: I may have jinxed all of this. Haha

Let’s see. They are 1-5 in quad 1 games (can thank us) and 2-5 in quad 2 games with also a quad 3 loss. Yeah that’s a hard no.
They are living right now. 2 missed FT’s by ASU with 4 seconds left. Coleman Hawkins great down the stretch.

Right now they aren’t a bubble team even with this second road win and now 2 Q1 wins.

But next two games are hosting both Kansas and Arizona. Win those two and yes they are a bubble team. They’d have 11 losses and an overall record of 13-11 but have 4 Q1 wins and a net likely in the 50s or low 60s and would have won six in a row including three over top 20 teams. They’d also have a winning league record.

Still don’t think they’d be in but they’d be in the bubble team discussion for sure.

They still have quite a lot of work to do in my opinion.....if they somehow beat Kansas and Arizona, then they might have a chance....their noncon was rough though

They already have 11 losses with some really bad ones. They probably have to win the Big 12 tourney no matter what.

Can't wait to see how Tang reacts this time when they again aren't even in the first 4 out discussion come selection Sunday and end up having to travel to Wake Forest or Georgia for their first NIT game.

I think they've lost too much already unless they stay stupid-hot and finish out 8-1 or better. Even if they finish out like 7-2, they'll still only be 18-13 overall (12-8 in the Big 12) and some of those losses are pretty bad. I don't think that's getting you in this year over the glut of B10 and SEC teams that will have similar records but didn't lose to the likes of LSU, Liberty, Wichita State, Oklahoma State, and TCU.

With 11 losses, I think they have to get to the magic 20 wins to even be considered. If they had injured players missing to explain the first half of the season, the committee might look favorably on them, but it was just sh*tty play. Deciding to only take half the season seriously probably won't cut it for them.

No but maybe an NITish if things keep evening out.

I think they have some good players and it shows Tang is not good with occasional flashes.

I don’t know if they can make it, but they are definitely going in a different direction than we are right now.

Seems that trends and recent history should be a factor but I guess they’re not.
