If they lose this weekend to Central Michigan, Weis will get the chuck.
Didnt they just get a bunch of 4 star recruits too?

They were absolutely horrendous when Gill was fired. I don't think they are worse, but I also don't think they are better.Tbh, I don't really think Kansas was in this big of a rut when Weis took over. I feel like they have gotten worse if that is somehow possible. Is he still running them on like 80% of their plays?

Gill was in the process of building what was supposed to be a 4-5 year project. He got the rug pulled out from under him mid way. We know all too well that re-building a program in today's college football landscape is a very tough thing to accomplish. I try not to laugh too hard at Kansas, because we're only a few injuries, bad luck and a bad coordinator away from ending up in that position.
I don't think Kansas is better under Weis and he's done all kinds of things to indicate he's a short-timer. Kansas is terrible, and I expect them to pull the plug on him at the end of the season, barring winning 4-5 games. I think the next guy will need a longer time horizon and it has to be the right guy. The fan base is a little impatient though, is my sense. It's a weird fan base IMO. They say that they don't care about football, but I think they are kind of like us, in that they want to be respectable and be around .500 and in the bowl talk. There is plenty of money around KU - they just need the right guy and to give him 6 or 7 years. How could the outcomes be worse than what they are seeing now. They were idiots to force Mangino out, and everyone around here that I talk to knows this and wish they had never got rid of him.
Gill's 2nd year was beyond pathetic. They were setting Big 12 records I bad ways. That team was just flat out uncompetitive in 2011. They actually seemed to slip quite a bit from 2010 to 2011 even though it only resulted in 1 less win.Gill was in the process of building what was supposed to be a 4-5 year project.
