I would have to assume Fred will have Kane guarding Smart. And Travis Ford will likely have Smart guarding Kane. Going to be a hell of a matchup. If Kane has a big game against Smart (hoping, but not convinced will happen) would think he will be right back in the running for the Wooden Award.

Will be be eager to watch this one.

Go Clones!

Agreed. Great match-up. I'm afraid that Smart's weak-*** flopping will **** Kane off and he will commit a dumb foul or two. He is pretty clear with the refs when he disagrees with a call against him. And Smart will get his calls. That *****.

Doug McDermott* is going to win the Wooden award, but still looking forward to the Kane vs Flop matchup.

*I don't hate Doug or Garbage McDermott, but I do hate Creighton, so it pains me to say that. Ok, maybe I strongly dislike Garbage for trying to kill ISU bball.

This is what I thought this post was going to say:
Everyone keeps comparing Kane with Smart. Today was a GREAT example of the difference between the two. The defense wasn't giving Kane much today, so supported his teamates and dished out a bunch of assists. The defense wasn't giving Smart much either, so he forced a bunch of crappy shots and had a very poor night shooting, which probably was the difference in them losing today.

Kane will be ready to go, my guess is this is one reason he came here, for this matchup.

It is finally here. I am very excited to see this matchup.

Kane might get some breaks from guarding him once OSU starts bringing in subs, as their bench seems to consist of two small guards. I would expect to see Hogue on Smart some during periods when OSU inevitably goes small.

Lastly, don't underestimate Smart as a defender. He may flop once or twice a game, but he is one hell of a defender. He has 20 lbs. on Kane and moves very well laterally. I think Kane's success will come from making the right play. He will have opportunities to get past Smart to the hoop, but I expect him to be more impressive in assists vs. points in the end.

Smart could have gone to the NBA and gone in the top 5 of the lottery.

He made one of the worst decisions in the history of sports.

I disagree. I respect a kid who wants to come back and have a chance with his college. he can always go pro but he only can do college once.

call me a fool (actually don't) but I wish it was two and done instead of one. gives colleges more stability and lets pro teams have another year of real competition to measure a player.

I won't call you a fool but he came back and compared to last year's hype doesn't look good, at all.

It's actually a pretty easy game plan. Let Smart jack it up as much as he wants. His shot is terrible. If he hits them it's just our luck like always. So far not to impressed with his shot.

Everyone should prepare themselves for the fact that okie st and Smart have played poorly the last few games. Guarantee u on big Monday that Smart will go off for 30+, bank it right now and prepare....

with that hat said! we match up better with okie st more so than any other team in league. They have very little front court and zero depth in front court.
