Cyclone Club presale came in.
So many packages I wouldn't even know where to begin.

For those curious general pricing (without flights):
3 city/8 day: $3735 (3*) $4250 (4*) $5100 (5*)
2 city/6 day: a lot of options and varies in the $3 to $4k range (for 3* and 4*).
Dublin only/3 day $2500ish (3 to 4*) $3325 (5*)
Some value packages slightly onder $2k for 3 nights

per person based on double occupancy.

Does it feel like there's a particular hotel in Dublin they're utilizing? We'll probably book/plan our trip on our own but it's fun staying near ISU fans on these trips.

Gonna take me in your carry-on? Shove me in a suitcase like the old days?

these travel packages for any ISU trip are never a good deal

their target market is people like my parents (boomers) who will pay some travel service 40% more just to have everything organized for them and some lanyard they can wear the whole trip

i budgeted out a few weeks ago and this whole trip should cost my wife and I like $4k each and that includes flight, lodging, food and game ticket.

How many days are you going for? I'd like to see both "coasts" of Ireland.

Yeah I'm gonna wait... considering when I look up hotels in Dublin most of the rooms I'm seeing are under $200 or much cheaper (granted August is probably peal travel season so gonna be more expensive compared to now). I'm not sure what the packages include and as much as I want to make ISU look good and buy through them I want the freedom to pick and choose where I go and what I do. Definitely gonna go outside Dublin, go to my ancestral homeland, or at least where the family lore says it is lol.

havent booked yet but thinking 7-8 nights

dublin probably like 8/21-8/24 then travel a few days and fly home the 28th or 29th
Looks like most 8 day packages have Dublin in the middle days.

Yeah, looking up the same hotels over the same dates, you can get the same rooms for less than half the per person cost if you book yourself. Obvs would still need to get your tickets, but you save a lot by booking yourself vs getting one of these packages.

My wife and I are seriously considering going.

This is random but any can’t miss stuff over there that I wouldn’t find just googling? I’ve never been there.

Getting pretty excited about this trip! Trying to map out an itinerary now. I’d like to hit Dublin(obviously), Cork, and Galway on the trip in 6 nights (could do 7 potentially).

For those what would be the recommendation, not sure the best amount of time for each location.
  1. Get to Dublin Aug 17th and spend night there -> Cork Mon, Tues nights -> Galway Wed, Thurs nights -> back to Dublin Fri, Sat for the game. Fly home Sunday
  2. Get to Dublin Aug 17th and spend Sunday, Monday there -> Cork Tues, Wed night -> Galway Thurs night, Friday day and travel to Dublin that night -> Dublin Fri, Sat for game -> fly home Sunday
I guess the main question is 3 or 4 days preferable for Dublin? Or is one day/night ok for Cork and/or Galway. Or should I stretch this out to 7 nights

Stretch it to 7. I plan on doing 8 nights in Ireland, 4 in dublin to really explore the city/plus game. 4 throughout other parts of the country. Little bummed they tore down the hotel I stayed at when I did an overnight in doubling in 2019. It was prime location from temple bar district.

I’m debating whether I stay in Europe for six weeks, or come back after my annual three week trip I do in July, early august, back for two weeks and flying back to Ireland for the game.

Highly recommend France. Some people like to **** on paris but I love that city. Normandy and Mont Saint Michel were amazing experiences, Marsielle, and Lille are great cities too.
