Ok, Ok I wasnt trying to start a brawl in here.

I dont know the difference between the giant 5g tower lookin thing I showed in my pix vs the little boosters on the flag poles.

Figured one was wifi and one was Cellular.

And really didnt know what the answer was for data on game days. Some games I have had somewhat Ok data, and others not so much. And in the Lots it seems worse.

But when it comes to how those signals work...I have no idea.

If they're on the outside of buildings and 5G is in the area, likely 5G. WIFI is better and if not secured is free. That's why phones look for WIFI first before using cellular minutes for data. Hope this answered your question.

I was thinking putting something more like a 5g signal antenna pod or whatever the are called on each support tower of the press box.

I'm no expert but have been exposed to some of this information so please correct me if i'm wrong. My understanding is the 5g MMwave antennas are much smaller than the huge ones you see along interstate, etc. Those interstate ones are designed to cover large distances. The MMWave antennas cover a relatively short distance, but extremely high bandwidth and thousands of connections. I think you'd only need less than a handful scattered around the stadium to cover the stadium, but you'd also need a 5g phone to support. But that should take a large load off of the existing 4g structure?

Correct. In general, the greater the distances between antennas the more power they require and the larger they are. 5G is faster therefore, it requires shorter distances between antennas which allow for smaller antennas. Does this help?

Will they upgrade communication coverage in the new areas and around and in the stadium? I didn't see the cell towers in the new RV lot.

You know? Actually it might be better if they ignore tech in 2022 and just make people talk to each other. Either way I'm fine.
This work is being done on all of the light poles between JTS and Hilton.
