Can't wait to hear the RV donors complain about how close the RV's are to each other... Those spots look tight
I'm not sure this is any tighter than what we had. In the past the maximum you could use was from the middle of the parking row to the middle of the aisle, and that was if you didn't allow any aisle walk through space which some did but most allowed room for people to walk through without going through the tailgate. Remember that each tailgate will have their entire pad and the entire grass patch. Their neighbor to that side will be using the grass patch on the other side of their pad.

I think 55' x 14' is plenty of space. That is just the grass, not including the pad where your RV will be. And you won't have to allow any of that space for a walking aisle.

I agree that you could pack them tighter than the previously were.. I also think electric hookup (no generators) is a MASSIVE game changer.

But the people who really sprawled out and took advantage of the former situation are going to bitc*

We have some tailgates for 200+ people (and almost always 100+). Not sure how it is going to work in the new RV Village, but we will give it a try. Hope the Grandmas and Grandpas around us don't mind the crowd.

Sounds awesome and awful to have that big of a party. I doubt there is room for over 75 in the stall.

Here is a good comp from an asset my company nearly bought. Looks to be similar site plans to Jamie's RV parking layout

Keep in mind that there will be 2 RV's per lane

I commend you for having that type of gathering and sounds great. You are an outlier and it is unreasonable for them to make spaces that big.
Please post your spot # when you get it. I'm guessing neighbors should enjoy the atmosphere.

We actually have two RV spots and hope to get an end cap. Look for the 40 foot telescoping flag! Or Friday night poker.

If they open the RV lots early.. so one could make a long weekend out of a big game, that looks like a pretty good time. Roll in on Thursday and get the party started. Catch all the Thursday night matchups before moving into Friday, followed by our game on Saturday.

Not having to line up on Thursday night was one of the sales pitches for the new RV Village. However, some of us didn't mind. We used to line up on Thursday night in staging areas for the old RV lots. Some folks (not us) had too much of a good time. Once it caused the ISU Police to push us all out of the lots until Friday morning. Some showed up at 12:01am.

So, Thursday night may need to be at my house in West Ames. Seriously. For folks I know like CRS, you are welcome to crash at my house or park in the driveway. Just don't act like those guys who went over the line in the RV staging area.

With remote working and electrical hookups. Camping in the RV Village before games would be a smashing hit. "working" from the RV on Friday sounds amazing.

Is that being sold as an option?

Perhaps you could sublet my space for the business hours on Friday. Call it "Gravitate Jack Trice Stadium."

It looks to be decently thought out. We use to be in the old RV lots. I chose not to up my donation to be included in the RV lot. Disposable income is hard to come by, and We chose to use our $$ for personal travel and make it work in the car lots.

That being said, It looks like plenty of space for most people. About the same as I've seen at other places. The aerial view should look great for TV and promos. Most RVs (trailers) are 8ft wide and with slides could open up to about 13-14'. Hope everyone is kind to their neighbors with room and noise levels.

I always do better backing in when space is somewhat limited. It makes you concentrate a little more and gives you less options to think about. It would be fun watching some back in though.

@Cycsk Have they said anything about being able to leave the RV there through the season and not having to come and go each week?

When we were working on early stages of the design, one of the things that came from ISU was they wanted this to be "the best 48 hour experience 6 or 7 times a year". I think that was intended to be a Friday morning to Sunday morning thing, but not 100% sure.

I don't really seeing them change it from before. Its nice having most of the RVs in before and out after game day traffic arrives. That is the part I will miss not being in that lot.

Haven't heard anything about leaving the RV through the season. However, they have stated policies of how early you can enter and how late you can stay. Thus, by implication, I think they are saying that you can't leave your RV there through the week. You may be able to make a deal with the Haunted Forest for parking between game weeks rather than during game weekends.

Here are some views from the NW corner near the east end of the bridge. They have only the utilities for these spots.

Click on the pics to get them to focus.
