Nice! Do you think they’ll do that for some of the “big” games the year, like the eiu game?
my best guess is they'll bring the trucks up the hill by the concourse. I haven't seen it in person but I have a feeling it would look less daunting in person than it does on the camera. It looks like there's a well defined path from the machinery already and a decent opening between the new wall and the stands. I guess we'll wait and see
They're not driving loaded concrete trucks up that incline, they'll end up pumping it.
Is it really steep? I can't get a good feel for the incline from the camera. I'm probably misjudging the slope by alot.
I did see some of those dump trucks needing several attempts to get up the hill. I can’t imagine doing that with a sloshing load full of cement. They did do some additional work on the hill, so it may be better now. You have to admit it would make interesting viewing!
ah makes sense, I take back my previous thought then. Just spin the drum hard against the lean and all will be good
Looking at the slope of the retaining wall forms on the east end of the tunnel, I don't think there's going to be a lid. I bet that area will remain open and a fence will be put around it, similar to how it was.
Are there any qualified Engineers in Ames to sign off on it?

Personally, I thought that would be the biggest argument for a “lid”. The roof wouldn’t slope, but the line of soil atop it will.
My mind is telling me that the lines on the existing walls line up to well with where a lid would go and they will fill just up to that point as they did in the SE corner. Not trying to campaign for lid or no lid just that's what I've thought this whole time.
We may also never know if they take the afternoon off every Friday...
I think I just saw the flatbed for the crane pull up—but it’s just sitting in the street without turning.Looks like the big yellow crane might be in the process of disassembly. Bye bye crane?

I think they are loading it now, but they have been loading for about an hour. It appears they keep scooting the trailer further south. It’s hard to tell because most of the action is hidden behind the scoreboard.
Yeah, what’s the deal? About all they’ve done on the hilltop this afternoon is clean up leftover scraps of styrofoam.
That’s possible. They did bring in a bunch of dirt on the Saturday before installing the retaining wall panels. They need those tunnel walls finished soon so they can start backfilling that area. Plus we really need to know if there is a cap or no.
