Say what you want, but Miller has never been as good as when he was paired with Marty. I know I'm in the minority, but I liked them together.

I listen nearly every afternoon on I-Heart Radio, and second your motion! I assume its good production, too, but the show has tremendous balance. Just enough college sports, just enough pro sports, equal time for Iowa State, equal time for Iowa. The regular guests are great, too. I especially enjoy 'Bama Bob.

From a national perspective, it helps they don't limit their content to local topics. They don't stoop to juvenile inuendo, while also not condescending to the audience, so it has been very listenable.

Hopefully someone worthy step up to replace Brinson. Its a big opportunity for someone, and I'm looking forward to hear how it unfolds.

I met Jim and his girlfriend a few times at Briarwood. Seems like a good dude. Amazing that his radio voice is his normal voice. That was the most annoying thing about him for me. And his willingness to let Miller abuse him. I thought Miller was the nice guy before he was paired with Brinson. Then it seemed he became a jerk. Plus it annoys me how little knowledge Miller has outside of three sports.

This has always bothered me. It is really awkward how flat out mean Miller treats him sometimes. Especially with how nice and jovial Brinson always seems to be.

It's an act that they both go along with, everyone chill out. They've pretty much acknowledged this on the air before

I'm guessing they bring in someone we're not familiar with like they did when they hired on Brinson. Ken was saying he hopes they hire someone that isn't a ISU or Iowa homer, so that would rule a lot of local people out.

Sure sometimes its an act but it gets really awkward sometimes and I don't see how they would think an "act" like that makes good radio.

Speaking of KXNO it is fun to hear Ross Peterson cry in to the mike this morning. Poor Hawkeye fans. He is fired up and upset.

I love it!

When Ross said he thought Iowa would beat ISU by 20+ before the season started, I lost it. That's hilarious!

Just the other day I was thinking that these two finally hit their stride. It took a while, but I have really liked their chemistry over the past few months.

Jimmy B is a goofball, but he kind of became our goofball. I am sad to hear the news. I am very nervous about who they will pair with Miller next. The track record for that station is so hit or miss when it comes to picking talent.

I've never been a Brinson fan. Wish him well, but very glad he is moving on. (Especially cringed when he would call us fans "dopes". And the way his questions would go on for ten minutes and really be just his own commentary . . . wanted to pull him through the radio and shake a pause out of him.) I like Ken's style a lot, . I think another Miller/Tyrell duo would be awesome, but it won't happen. Miller likes CW a lot . . . says so all the time. that could be fun. I miss Deace on sports radio, he was so knowledgeable and entertaining, but can't see a Miller/Deace combo.

Yeah, that is the irritating thing about listening to Brinson. Obviously we are all kind of 'dopes' when it comes to sports, but the man wouldn't have a job if we weren't. And he'll often talk about things like he's the only person smart enough to come up with some simple observation.

The drive time show seems to be the only show that KXNO is willing to sink some money into. They might actually bring in someone from another place. My vote would go for a young guy.

Miller said today he didn't want anyone that lectures on political or social views, maybe saying not Deace. Also, didn't want a hawk or cyclone, wants Switzerland. May not get what he wants, who knows.

They have dumb little married couple fights...

JB: "Miller and Brinson, 1460 KXNO on a beautiful Thursday afternoon"
KM: "Jim, its only 55 degrees outside, its far from beautiful"
JB: "Well its not raining today so I think its beautiful"
KM: "Whatever Jim, its really not that nice, and our listeners really don't care what you think is beautiful"

Except that I've never heard Jim pick a fight with Ken...it's always Ken who does.

I agree with that. I listen on iheart a lot and it really was a pretty good show. 100x better than anything Omaha has, I can tell you that. Covered ISU and iowa equally, covered the local NFL teams, not too much national stuff, but enough. Plus, they hardly ever went the route of trying to anger listeners to get calls (unlike giggles or Tirrell). Good show.

Jimmy B seemed like a real nice guy, but this just drove me absolutely nuts. For example, people would say in passing that "on paper they should win going away and..." Jimmy B would then interrupt and take three minutes to dramatically, slowly, and repeatedly inform us that "They don't play the game on paper. They don't play the game on paper."
Overall I thought the show was OK, and the only option to get local sports at the time and they had good guests (excluding MmmKay Silverstein).

I can't listen to MmmKay. I turn at that point and usually won't return. Or if the two get into their couples arguments. It's not good enough radio to listen to that.
