I hope this doesn't happen, because I love Conan O'Brien..and what he has already done with his "Tonight Show".....but since Jay Suck Leno is tanking at 9PM (Central), 10PM (Eastern) NBC is re-thinking their plan for late night television.

IMO, Leno has always sucked. He has no "New" material, and it completly shows at his current time slot. It is the same crap....and the general public is done with it. I would also like to state that I love Letterman, and always watched his show over Leno for years.........the old man is just funny....but since the switch this fall, I watch Conan more.

Conan, is freaking funny. He is doing well, but NBC feels that numbers have been down just because Leno went to 9PM.

Get rid of Leno! He should have just retired, and that would have been the end of it.

Here is a story to check out that explains the situation.

Is Leno?s 10 p.m. experiment nearing an end? - Television- msnbc.com

Anyway....I'll stop ranting.... thoughts?

Get rid of Leno. He sucks.

That would be really really rotten to screw conan over.

Leno is terrible, but I have to admit I watch him sometimes at 9:00 if I'm watching TV then. I just can't stay up late enough, and I like to laugh. Everything else on at 9:00 is a drama I don't like or just stupid.

That said they need to figure out something. I mean 99% of the time it's just not good TV. Also, I don't like Dave either so it's not a Leno hater rant.

Leno has had his time. Time to move over and let Conan be NBC's man.

I watch Leno now, never did before because it started too late. If i stay awake past 10, I watch the Daily Show and Colbert.........now those are two guys i would love to see at 9:00 on NBC or any channel!

I think Leno is funny, but I don't like the way his show is set-up. It just doesn't flow like it used to. Headlines and Jay Walking are still funny. I'd never say Letterman is better than Leno though. Didn't Jay own him in the ratings?

Leno has sucked from day one and I never for the life of me could figure out how he was on TV at all, let alone on a show with as much history as the one he got.

I don't think Leno is as bad as some of you do..

But he clearly has compromising pics of somebody up the food chain at NBC.

If Jay beat Letterman in ratings it is probably because so many people just watch the Tonight Show regardless of who the host is. Carson made that show so great that even an average Leno couldn't kill it.

I am also one for having Leno retire and giving Conan the reigns. I think Leno's current show hurts Conans ratings, because some people only will watch on talk show a night and change the channel after Leno is over.

Leno has never been funny. The only thing he does is stand there and read joke written by his writers, which more often than not, are not funny. His funniest bit is reading Headlines that are submitted to the show. (So he shouldn't get credit for that.)
Half of what makes Conans show so funny is his ability to ad-lib and react to what is happening on the show.

Love Leno, neutral on Letterman, and Conan is juvenile. I'm sorry, but watching his hair bounce up and down in the camera doesn't make me laugh - and that's probably his best gig.

My prediction - Leno will go back to the Late Show and then John Stewart will succeed him.

No way Leno is better than Conan and if they did that NBC might as well shut its doors all together. They have a virtual suckfest of programming going on anymore. That's why good shows like Trauma couldn't survive a year there.

Leno used to be pretty good...when he was a guest on Letterman about 25 years ago. They used to love each other but you young-uns wouldn't know it.

I dont think Leno is great and its definitely an odd fit at 9pm but I have no idea what some of you find so hilarious about Conan. That guy is the kind of goofy awkward that makes me uncomfortable enough to turn off. I'd rather watch Daves very thin act at this point.

I think they'd force him to dumb down his act, which I wouldn't want to see. Conan will be a success with broader appeal once the older crowd that finds him "juvenile" gets too old to stay up that late and is replaced with a younger audience that appreciates his humor.

John Stewart is a perfect fit where he is at. I hardly see him getting away with what he does on NBC.

+1.

Carson's show in the late '60s through '70s was IMO significantly more "juvenile" than it was during his last decade. His show changed as did the tastes of his audience who followed him over the years. Conan's show doesn't exactly fit Leno's late night demographic, so he will have to build his own. It will take time.

don't know that will happen because he needs to run for president again, he might have a shot at winning this time.

If NBC tried to bump conan out of tonight, look for conan to head to ABC at the same timeslot.
